I would love to be up at the very very front too, and would happily wait all day if I had to (and if I were alone)! But I can say from experience it's nothing short of insanity being up near the front of the main stage at Coachella. Me and my crew tried for the Chems in 2002 - through Siouxie and the Banshees and Bjork, and it was too much to bear. I was seriously getting crushed. My son is a festival n00b, his safety is paramount so I'll opt for where the view is still good, the sound is still awesome and there's less of a crush of people. Plus I have seen the Chems up against the rail a couple of times already - so I am happy to let someone who hasn't had a chance (or is stronger willed to beat the crush) get the opportunity. :)

BTW I love the diagram!!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

When I'm on the rail! I kinda act like a kid of sorts! I fell invigorated as if my youth was restored, If the rail was a 'fountain of youth', I'd be at that rail as soon as the Coahcella gates open! But being with a crowd has its advantages! You share the same emotions, experiences, and sharing the uplifting energy to one another. It's your brothers and sisters for crying out loud.

I'm tall and skinny so I can do some frogger-style maneuvering. But I might have to join whirly and all since I think the show would be more enjoyed not being crushed and being a bit back. Let me figure out if I like KOL and Black Keys first...

I am amenable to wherever the crew decides to station itself for the Chems, but I will probably slowly, inexorably work my way up front.

Can't wait to Chell with my Bros.... (oh god did I actually type that....????)
