It's a similar thing to the Korg Kaoss Pad, or Roland's D-pad

they're not that powerful... There is the JazzMutant Lemur too, a touchscreen where you can put anything you want : twiddles, faders, buttons... Amon Tobin used that for his live set in Paris.
