Norman's been given the go-ahead for Brighton Beach after the two deaths in 2002.

Ahhhh the memories - brighton beach 2002. What a day it was boiling hot sunshine and over 250,000 people decend on brighton beach to witness the fatboy. That ranks up there with seeing chemical brothers for 1st time.

Pretty much "featuring" there... Doesn't Norman write instrumentals anymore? Let's see what's this all about. Hopefully not Palookaville Vol.2

Oh, there where some nice tunes on Palookaville - Slash Dot Dash & El Bebe Masoquista are still some of my favorite Fatboy tunes. I think you can't match Palookaville with Better Living or Long Way as you can't match WATN with EPD. Artist advance their style - some like it, some don't.

Yes, you're right on that matter (although Slash Dot was horrible to listen to; too much slashs and dots ) therefore I did not compare Palookaville to other Fat albums. Well to be honest, I didn't give it to much listens but that's because it left such a bad impression on me. Too much sing sang and less focus on the music itself. Need to check the whole album out again to give it a more objective opiinion, that's true. What I liked about this akbum though was the great use of live samples and real drum kits. But all that sounded to soft and shallow. He could have made much more out of it.

Yeah, Norm took the vocalist ball and ran with it. I blame Tom and Ed - didn't they encourage him to take a chance and ring some singers up to appear on Halfway Between The Gutter and Stars?

We're never going to get the same Fatboy from the 90's, and we're not going to get another Palookaville either (easy now, I warmed up to that album, hehe). Big Beat's been done before and Fatboy did it well - and moving on from that is the natural course of things. Anyway, to me it's been interesting hearing Norman Cook evolve. I like the Seattle song (cool vid, too) so I'm looking forward to Brighton Port Authority. I'm glad Norman Cook is still around making music.

Nah nah, don't get me wrong. I'm not asking for another kind of his past albums and strictly Big Beats (although Prodigy shows that it is still possible and fresh :D - and on Palookaville are many Big Beat elements in fact) but that was not my mature point. I'm glad too that Norm is spinning around and bring us some new tunes. I'm rather excited about it.

The new album is pretty good. I find it much better than Palookaville, perhaps because I'm not expecting Fatboy Slim when I listen to it. It's a shame "He's Frank" is the first song because it is my personal favorite of the bunch and nothing seems to match its energy.
