Dear Tom & Ed,

Fucking Hell, that was great!!!

Yeah everyone, my fourth time this year and it was great again. A lot of people at work asked me what the fun is of seeing a band so many times a year. And sometimes I wonder it myself.

But all that doubt was washed away this evening. Anyone who's going to a gig soon stop reading now, it will spoil the fun.

Don't say I didnt warn you. It's the second half of the tour and the brothers always want to do something fresh and experimental in their set so I had a whole night of 'oooh', 'aah' 'wow' and 'awesome'. Galvanize still opener of the show but with a different beginning. A lot of bleeping and "don't hold back" vocals, Do it again had the Big Jump mixed in it and it sounded great, All Right Reversed ended with the Test vocals and mixed in It began in Afrika (oh my fucking god!!!!!!!) which led to Out of control and don't fight it feel it. part 2 with a new mix of Under the influence which is a beast. EBW 8 is Tom & Eds favourite live track, it shows and it sounds great (am I using 'great a lot?) Believe with some extra "popow" noises leads to We are the night which I like now, I didn't 'feel' it the other times. Next track was a "holy Shit!!!!" NUDE Night. I never heard a live version of it and it is awesome. There was a voice screaming from the speakers "I found myself stuck in somekind of hell!" which started the Golden path. The gig ended with Chemical beats and the encore was, as at Trafalgar Square Leave home and Block Rockin' Beats.

The openings vocal to the Golden path had so much truth in it. Tom and Ed were stuck in somekind of hell. Oh my God what a DEAD audience. I always had doubts if I am Dutch or, to be more honest, I hope I am more British than Dutch. Although it was a small room it had no atmosphere and although there were like 2000 people I think no more than 20 people went totally out of their mind. What a bloody shame.

I had a wicked time Tom & Ed. I hope the crowd didn't bother you too much. It looked like Ed was a bit pissed of or dissapointed by the crowd (it looked that way after Star Guitar I don't know for sure) And I truly hope that after a new album you will be tempted to come to Holand again, maybe just 2 times in stead of 3.

Well, I'm off to Antwerp tonight for the gig there. Knowing Belgium people if will be a daft audience again. But this time I have 3 great people with me who how to party (Jeannie and Mippio, I hope you read this after the Antwerp gig)

Chemical Brothers I love your music. I get goosebumps from Surface to air and Burst Generator at you live shows. Keep them Coming

thanks. Love is all

SWEET!!! They shook things up for round 2!

Joslyn, your review was tasty! Thanks a mil!

Nude Night - hot damn, I imagine the bass in that! And our boys mixed in It Began In Afrika! And The Test vocals! Extra goodie sounds! "I believe I'm stuck in some kind of hell!" Oh wow!!

irishfan is going to flip when he finds out about Nude Night. And Jeanie's going to lose her mind when she hears The Test vocals. Muahaha!

Can't wait til some bootlegs surface.

A shame about the lackluster crowd, but still a fantastic set it seems.

Thanks again Joslyn for your review!

NUDE......NIGHT.............

WTF MATES!!! That's up there with clip kiss for my heavy spin b-sides. This is going to spark so much debate of what Bsides they should play for the rest of the tour.

So when you say big jump....is it alot the same like the rest of the year with the squeaks of the live version or do you hear more like they played back in 05. Or UTI, like the version they played back a few years ago (04/05). And We haven't seen IBIA in a show for a while...ohh man this is starting to get exciting again!!! really, REALLY praying for a coachella or western canada date now

I really agree about the audience, it was like 60% "farmers", 10% old people and 30% design students (about half of my faculty must've been there!) and somehow the farmer part seemed to be more interested in getting beer all the time (and of course their path to the bar had to cross the place where I was standing) than in really going out of their mind.

Can't say I remember It Began in Afrika or Out of Control but I suppose they were vocal-less mixes and I somehow didn't recognize them in the mix... setlist was awesome though, was quite a surprise for me to hear them actually play Nude Night, and the bass in that Under the Influence mix really showed why it's sometimes wrongly named "Bass Test" in p2p programs :P

I also think it was a bit short, now this was the first Chemical Brothers gig I've been to but 21:15-22:45 when the schedule was 21:00-23:00 seemed a bit on the short side to me.

Had a great time though, especially the closing part which susprisingly (to me) had three of their older tracks which rocked bigtime, I especially dig Leave Home.

A friend of mine should've got lots of movie clips on his mobile phone, I'll ask whether he can upload them or send them to me.

Shame they have dropped EBW7, hopefully Brixton will be an extended set.

Did nude night sound much like the orginal or was it tweaked much?

It´s a proper mix of the Big Jump very much the same but shorter as at the PTB tour. Downside it eats a lot of Do it again which I really like live. IBIA is a little mix, mostly vocal but also beats. Man I´m excited for tonight!!

And yes Stijntje the audience was pretty lame indeed. What´s up with students these days? All beer no dancing? Getting wasted is more exciting then a party mood. And didn´t you hear "maybe I feel...Out of control"?

I probably did, but I honestly can't remember doing so ;)

I really don't get why people kept going for the beer, it tasted horrible anyway (festival-beer...) :D

ACIDCHILDREN: Oh by the way, there were some "You're all my children now" samples from EBW7, I don't think the song itself was played though,

Just received the pics/movies my friend made and I must say they're nice for personal nostalgia but not very interesting to post here... Alas, I hope someone else recorded something.

I expected something truly amazing instead I got something which didn't fulfill my expectations. The light show was astonashing but the music...

They had some very nice build ups to climax moments, but where was the climax? Gone, away, "foetsie". This is not at all like their studio albums.. Only the encore had some nice climaxes.

It's like they only played the middle pieces of the songs and the heads and tails where all the "fun" is were let out.

However, I could imagine fanboys won't agree with this.
