it's getting tense on the Coachella Message Board.... a few leaks have been made but nothing incredibly significant.....
If they do play, I hope they play Saturday or Sunday as well. It would kinda be dumb to have the weekend peak on a Friday.....but then again I'll take whatever I can get....

If they end up playing on Friday I'm going to beat the living shit out of somebody at Goldenvoice.
No, I won't, but I will send them a rather lengthy e-mail chastizing them for their poor scheduling. You can't have The Chemical Brothers play on the Friday!!!
Speaking of Goldenvoice--they sent me an e-mail a while back advertising a country music festival. I did, actually, send a response to that e-mail:
"Never... send... me... anything... like... this... ever... again..."

Friday wouldn't be so bad. A Chems gig on a Friday night would be a nice way to head into the weekend. Plus you have a couple of days to recover before Monday rolls around.
Now if the Chems played Sunday, that would kinda suck. Weeknights are a little tough to work around.

Suuuuuuuuun so bright that I'm neeeearly bliiiiiiind...
Good stuff.
And Whirly, you do have a point about Friday not being so bad, but us out-of-towners have to deal with traveling on a Friday, which is a weekday too. :-(
Although, if there was a shit lineup on Friday with the exception of the Brothers at night, I wouldn't mind that. It would just be a shame to pay so much to see the Brothers... Although, it's always worth it, no matter what the price tag is.
Good, good times.

OHHHHH GOLDFRAPP!!!!!
It's a leak now. SWEET! I'm still mad about the time I went down to Portland to see them and got stuck in Seattle because 2 planes went mechanical. That's the price I pay for going standby though.
On the other hand, Still hoping for chems, but artists I'm looking forward to (possibly) seeing.
Cinematic Orchestra, still my secret album of 2007. PLAY WITH PATRICK WATSON!!! I would also say play with Fontella Bass but with her age and the heat of the desert....yah that may be a little hazordous for her.
and then
Dwight Yoakam, gotta give a big up to a country legend. I wanted to see Willie Nelson play there last year. That's the one almost disturbing thing about 2007. I started to really enjoy Country. It's still along the lines of the Alt-country sound but it's tottally out of left-field for me.
Spiritualized, hmmmmmm. I know we talk about collabs with the chems all the time. How about a collab with someone they did a remix for?
And side note, I just found out that I only have 3 finals this semester. 2 of my courses don't have finals. really looking into talking to my instructors into scheduling all my exams the monday to thursday morning beacuse of a 'CONFLICT'

I'd give my left nut (if I had one) to see Spiritualized at Coachella one more time. Or anywhere for that matter. I love that band and they are so good live!
I took a quick dig (nothing too thorough) at the Coachella forums yesterday and I think that line up is bogus. Third Eye Blind... yeah. Dwight Yokam seems even more unlikely. I know Willie Nelson played Coachella last year but come on. It's Willie Nelson! Dwight Yoakam's a bit of a little leager in comparison, no? It's got to be bogus and from what I remember, it's been called out.
Unless something's changed over the course of a day.

Even if Dwight is a sham for coachella.....I'd still want to see him one day. Guilty little pleasure here

Asde from Jack Johnson headlining on the Friday (that's a little funny lookin) there's some good people on that line up - 2 bands (Spiritualized and The Verve) which are a couple of my all time favorites.
Kraftwerk, Roger freakin Waters, Fatboy, Gogol Bordello and even Erol Alkan is squeezed in.
The main thing that's missing is The Chems. :(
I'll likely be sitting this one out.
