If u have, what do you think? I think its bangin for the most part.

Side note, if the Chems eventually become producers after their rockin career is over, they will obviously produce for all types of music. But im wondering what rappers everyone would want to see them produce, since it seems electronic is the next progression of hip hop.

Yeah I heard Kish Kash, It's an album for basement fans, It's not an easy album to really get into, but there are a couple of really good tracks. I have found tha when jaxx makes a good track, it's really fucking good but they have often miss the boat. Their best album was remedy, it seems that they have moved away from making that music that makes you move your feet and more music for the mind, ambiance music.

It was alright, what was that hip-hoppy song they did?

was it Jump 'N Shout, or was that another track?

Anyway, the Plump's warm-up DJ dropped it, it certainly warmed us up!

Quality track.

Just listening to Basement Jaxxs remix of Phoenix by Daft Punk. Its quite weird and sketchy in its own manner...Nothing I would listen to much.

Remedy is a cool album. Rooty is a strange album, The only tracks that appeal to me of Rooty are: Where's Your Head At? (Still A awesome track to listen to) and Get Me Off which is pretty cool.

Yeah, I thought all the release tracks from Rooty (apart from Where's your head at) were pretty good. I remember Where's your head.. been really overplayed in the UK at the time it came out and I got fed up of hearing it, I think Radio 1 still play it now.

Jaxx really are an aquired taste I think - when I bought Remedy upon first listen I absolultey hated it, then when I got starved for some decent music 2 years later I liked it - then I bought "Rooty" and fell in love with "Jus one Kiss'"poppy goodness and looooooved Wheres Your Head At, a bit dated now, but at the time I loved it and am very happy with what they did on the new record. You'll like the Jaxx guys, trust me......eventually!!

....I find the Jaxx to be more of the opposite...
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Same rings true for me about Remedy. Can't say I really dug it when I first heard it, so I never bought the record - but after a long while I listened again to a couple of tracks on some Astralwerks promo I got and I really liked Bingo Bango and Red Alert. I guess it's just one of those things that are better in retrospect than they are at the time!

I got into the jaxx when fly life came out, way back 96-97??? the orignal version that came out on EP3 is the best. although the britt mix with the ragga vocal is pretty cool. i still think its the greatest tune they have done. if not most ignored

then the promos of red alert were floating around towards the end of 98, i kinda remember it being one of the tunes that made up that new years eve. and a few months later i key hearing this spanish flaminco tune on the radio and 'fatboy slim V armand van helden' ambe'decks'trous shows. that tune i later found out was rendez-vu and it totally blew ibiza up in 99 to. bingo bango says bud ice bus @ homelands to me, not many tunes i can remember where i was at a festival nearly 5 years ago.

the whole album remedy is wicked, it was the soundtrack to 1999 along with surrender. 1999 was easily the best year of my life.

unfortunately for me the jaxx have never repeated this success. i'd go as far to say rooty was a waste of money. and not even the slightest intrigued what the new album is like. what i've heard of it so far is dissapointing.

their live shows are pretty entertaining. but at the end of the day they are the pioneers of 'pop cartoon dance music'
I'm a fuckin doughnut
