Cumbia, but I've always hated it, and the "planchas", our local chavs.

All the new "rap" and "hip-hop", it's always about the "bling bling", the "booties", the "arse", and what a "pimp" you are. Disgusting.

Madonna, please, stop "singing", you cannot sing anymore without the help of 1.000.000 filters, computers, etc. You cannot sing anymore!

And now you've ripped off Abba as well!

Any crappy piece of music that everybody takes it to the top, like that "gay song", I don't even know its name.

I did not say he was the best thing since sliced bread, his music is just massively over played and rated, but here are worse things out there.

Il Divo for example.

Well, I will agree with you on a couple of points. I can't get into religious music because it's not really my thing that but I do like the old gospel songs, the songs derived from the spirituals sung on chain gangs, the classic call and response that's carried over into so much of the music through the ages. But then you have modern Christian music and a good deal of it sounds like the spoof on South Park when Eric Cartman started the Christian band Faith+1. I guess, well... I guess I'm not down with Jesus enough to understand, or something.

A lot of country music is crap but that sits squarly on the shoulders of country pop that's littered the entire genre and given it a bad name - like Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith et al, you get my drift.

But I have to speak up. There is actually good country music out there - Johnny Cash for one, is an incredible songwriter who had a lot of lyrical depth to his songs. He was also one of the most progressive and looked to a lot of modern music for inspiration. Willie Nelson... now don't laugh, but the man's a genius. Yeah some of his stuff is incredibly hokey as he tried to branch out and incorporate other styles, but he's kept it real for the most part. His latest album, his pet project that took 10 years (the one with the pot leaf on it) is a collection of reggae covers and you wouldn't think country was musically close to reggae but this album proves otherwise. Lyle Lovett (forget he was married to Julia Roberts for a second) has some of the darkest most black humor in his lyrics. Loretta Lynn, amazing woman and amazing voice and her Van Lear Rose album produced by Jack White is fantastic! Anyway, there's some great stuff out there in almost any genre you just have to dig for it!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

First time I heard that Loretta Lynn album I bought it, thank you Tower Discount!

Country like all genres of music has it's good and it's bad. Every time I here some of that pop-country or bush/patriotic rhetoric-banter music I want to rip out my hair but there is also good in every genre I'd argue. Willie Nelson is one of the best, how could you not like that guy? He's really more hippie than country I'd say:

Really, could anyone see Clint Black releasing an album like this?
