I say go with the disktable kid. It's common sense that it's the future. Betters sound, better control, more compact. It's common sense for me anyways. I say a Pionner CDJ1000MK2 is the way to go.

Hey sneakerbeater, what do you think about denon and it's spinning platter? The technics table is going to have a spinning platter too. I think the platter is not useful at all, it replicates the feel of something spinning like a turntable but does it offer anything more?

I've got an all-in-one set - 2 CD decks and a mixer. Got it from argos or somewhere like that - 250 a couple of years ago. You may think they're obviously crap, and toy-like, but as the chems themselves have said, a good DJ can DJ on anything.

I'm in the same position as tarka, I would like some cd mixers (said I was going to get some this time last year!! ), but I'm not sure how to go about it. How much do the Pioneer cdjs cost and where can you buy them?

Call me a dumbass but do decks / cd mixers have speakers attached to them? :-//

No they don't have speakers attached to them, you need an amp. Go on the internet and check out different sites, you can get all the info you need. If someone makes you feel bad for asking a question you don't want their help.
