can we expect any similar or new special guests on the new material?

anyways glad to hear you doing well Ed!

And I must thank you and Tom once more for the tune "Star Guitar". My life would be alot duller if you guys hadn't created it!

Seriously ? Ive never heard it ebfore man :o :o I dont have that single yet!

How come i never heard anybody about that song ?! It's really fucking good !!!

There's some strong opinions floating around about it. I personally like Scale, it's a whimsical little piece - like an experiment in sonic layering!

actually i second that star guitar remark....i find it much more epic and soul uplifting that surface to air or even private psychadelic....

especially the temptation/star guitar live mix...its part of my fav mixes of the show.

my fav part of the live show is under the influence/it doesn't matter-out of control-temptation/star guitar.

just so amazing....really hope these mixes stay in the new live show....*hint hint nudge nudge*!!! ;-)

Yeah, I had a soul revealing moment when I first heard Star Guitar live during Come With Us. I think it is so much better live than on the album, and after hearing it at the concert I walked away with a new appreciation for the song. It is gorgeous live, and such a crowd pleaser too.

same way as surface to air affects jeanie, star guitar just blows my soul open at its peak, and the beaty synth of temptation in there just rocks it out. been listening to it on the come with us japan only e.p constantly.

also forgot to say how much i love hoops/ebw6....its like its toms little baby he plays every show...and how he shouts at the drum machine and just jumps into it like its taking over his whole body...exactly how i feel hearing it....imagine how it feels playing it to 20,000 ppl!....

anyway....im off to watch the dvd!

hahaha, this thread has me wanting to bust out the dvd (but I'm sure stash would make fun of me, no matter how hard his nipples may be at reading the news). X-D

Hoops live is really something special, isn't it? Again, for me and Star Guitar, I think Hoops takes on the form of another beast entirely when it's played out live. It is Tom's baby, love how he gets into it with those funny muahaha faces. I love watching the crowd reaction on the dvd, it gets me every time. It was great being a part of a crowd that had the same kind of energy, too.

*sigh* memories...

Well, it was new to me. I'm not a huge Aphex fan and I just remember it being played to me at a mate's house two or three months back.

There was a kid on my floor at school who would wake us up every weekend with Out of Control sweeps.

At one point he took 4 16in subs and 2 amps and locked himself in the lounge and shook our seven story dorm with base sweeps and waves of High Roller.

Yeah I do like the idea of a hell of lot of b-sides, guess one really powerful single album would probably be better, I've known artists who release a double version later and it doesn't feel the same.

Back to the live stuff, yeah I feel like there has been some songs that I wasn't too fond of, such as The Big Jump, but hearing the live version changed my opinion. Seems like the chems can approach a song for a live show and put a whole new layer of creativity in it to make the song feel like you've just heard it for the first time, like they approach it more for the fans and no longer just trying to make it sound good for an album.
