Fuk sake! We were doing well, one nil up till 90 mins and then Heskey had to give away a free kick just outside the box! bastard. Then the pass back to the David James was just disasterous, and ended in a penalty. So pissed off, we had them, it was just stupidity that let them win.
The second half was a shambells to be honest, the French had possesion of the ball for the most of it.

i am so gutted. that was the cruellest defeat ive ever witnessed. :( }:-@ :( }:-@ :( }:-@ :'( :'(
to be fair, i thought tactically the second half was pretty sound - let 'em come at ya and defend well at the back - which they did. my boy ledley was sound as a pound. if we could have kept and retained possesion that would have been much better, but we just don't do that well - if we could have done what brazil did to us in the quarters 2 years ago we'd have been laughing.
im disappointed to fuck, but there are positives to be gleaned - we kept the supposed best team in the world at bay for 90 minutes - in fact when we weren't defending we looked awesome at times.
if they can learn from this, and then play like we did today for the rest of the tournament i'll be happy man.
we shall be redeemed in the final - oh yes.

I did watch the match, but our country didn't qualify so I don't really take sides in this one. I understand the feeling, couple of years ago we lost (in hockey) the world championship final by the same sort of lucky last minute goals.
It's just my little special service to salt your wounds. Why did you come to this board whining about it? It's not like the whole world is interested. }:-) ;-)

Fuk you. We want to share our thoughts in an important football match with our country playing so shut your face.
And hockey isn't as exciting as football, hockey's for gays.

hmmmmmm, let me guess chemd 'up - are you scottish or irish?
only nations with crap teams are generally this bitter and jealous. (are you listening soundertow?)
;)
yeah IP, i can see what sven was doing using heskey but when wil he learn the emile is a big game choker!!
shame about owen being anonymous, i dont think he had a good game, he was marked right out of it - as was henry for 90 minutes grrr.

what a huge disappointment. the game had so much hype to it. and we all thought we could do it, england always rise up to the challenge of playing the big teams. so many team mates playing against each other, you knew this game was gonna be exciting!!
the pub i was in just exploded when lampard scored the first goal. and the standard of football we were playing was excellent. but i was shocked to see beckham miss another penalty, or rather that clown bartez saved the penalty. we could have sown the game up there and then if it had gone in.
then those 2 injury time goal from zidane. that really hurt. the shear disbelief of seeing our certain victory erode away to us being a goal down, unbelievable!!! it was very reminiscent of man u's victory over bayern munich when they did the trebal. i really don't remember that much about the end of the game. whether thats down to shock blanking out my memories or the fact i had been drinking down the pub all afternoon i dont know.
look on the bright side. we did play well. did anyone see the croatia and switzerland??? they look like very easy teams to beat, not that you can take anything for granted in football!!!
now where is my mobile gone?? i had it before i got drunk last night....

blimey.
i hope we don't meet sweden at all - and this was prior to this match as well:
1) we havent beaten them for donkeys - always a draw or loss
2) larson will have a point to prove after always being slated for only cutting it in the SPL and being too chicken to play in the proper premiership
3) freddy lungberg will as feck you over - fact.
david james is a weak linmk, i agree, but he did ok against france - well he wasnt troubled really but he looked solid gathering crosses, which is where he nearly always falls down on.
with regards roy keane - hmmm - losing your best player is no excuse - its a team game not an individual performance. face it, they just didnt cut the mustard. ;)
what i dont get is i always cheer one of the home nations on like scotland or ireland, yet england always get stick from these lot. very unsporting, and def a big bunch of sour grapes to be had.
you can't diss becks, he's one of the greatest players in thw world. alright he was a bit quiet and had a duff penalty kick, but you'd rather play with him than against him.
now heskey on the other hand........ ;) :)
