...people marched. Thousands gathered. I marched along with the pro-Tibet marchers, listening to The Chemical Brothers...
It was a nice way to spend my lunch hour.

Protesting is good. We're still allowed to do that here, so you might as well. And if you can squeeze it into a lunch hour, even better!
The last time I took part in a protest was shortly after the Iraq war started - I went a few times (there's protests allowed where I live on Saturday mornings). We'd take the bus down so we wouldn't have to fight for a parking space. Lots of old folks from some nearby old folks' communities took the bus down to protest, too. Actually there were lots of old folks down to to support bringing the troops home, protest the war and the "worst president ever." There was one woman who must've been in her 90's and she was on the bus each Saturday carting her oxygen tank around, wearing red white and blue bless her little heart. The protests were quiet and peaceful except for the anti-protest crowd. They were fuckin nasty, throwing stuff, trying to rile up the peaceful side and cause a scene. I've never seen so many fat assed red necks yell such mean things to old people in all my life. :(
