Every one wanted the Salmon Dance. What do!
The chems just have sooo many great songs now some are bound to be left out.
Saturate with Setting Sun mix was awesome.
Great mixing all through out. The distorted retro guitars sounds so good live.
I was impressed with how packed the bowl was. No space anywhere!
Had a lot of fun

Same here! Curfew issues! Agree with the Tool show! Kind of let down!

(just to give you a heads-up. The vid quality is passable and short and to the point, that's me screaming in the BG. Other than that here we go...)
As I'm walking up toward the Hollywood Bowl, My mind encounters the previous chemical therapy sessions that have become so overwhelmingly mind-blowing but also a projecting a mental picture of what the show is going to be like tonight. A women walking right beside me whose carrying a purse and phone in hand asks me 'Is this your first time at the Bowl?'
'Yes' I said, while following 100 more fans making their way up the hill to the venue.
Then she said 'Have you seen these guys before? How are they?
I then said with a smirk on my face 'They'll make you dance your ass off!'
When I finally got to the entrance, There was a mass gathering of fans not just pouring down beer and wine, but a diverse camaraderie of Chemical fans who been there from the beginning, some fans who fell away but came back, and some who where intrigued by the Futher album and its ethereal taste. There was laughter, smiles, and hugs everywhere I walked, which evoked similar feelings of past trippiness of my earlier days when I was congregating with ravers.
Before I went to my seat, I had to do two things: I has to sell my extra ticket and find Whirls!
I had my ticket with me since the ticket presale. I found I guy who gave me 25 for it so I got me a beer and talked to few people. Around 6:50 pm , I met Whirly and the her family, and we got to talk a bit on the show and what was to lie ahead for the next 3 hours. We then get into our seats and wait for the Chems to come on. Yacht comes on, then Chromeo (played way too long IMO), then finally the lights go low and TNK comes on very slowly and gives the the entire crowd the cue to stand the hell up (except the ones still eating and sipping champagne)
As this time, I got out of my seat and moved more closer to the stage. Surprisingly, security didn't noticed, so I shot my first vid..Galvanize. It was much more different than the one I saw in the 2007 show and new improvasation (I will use this word alot in this review) on the track. As you can see on the vid, people in the front were still eating and mingling while I REPRESENTED! (Remember, I got out of my seat to get closer, so Security didn't notice my stealthyness!
Galvanize
Next up was Another World. And I can't explain how I felt when this came on, but I was BLINDED!
It was this force of shockwaves that hit me from every angle and made me feeble. I was not prepared to take on this track on the full live strength power. Another World was the best highlight for me, and, just listening to that godliness chorus just made die. Yep that's me screaming.

I finally got caught by them. They wanted to see my ticket and told my to go back to my original seat. Well, at least i got some good close footage. The rest of the following vids will show my exact location of where I sat, so keep that in mind. Anyway, Dissolve was coming up, and the guy who sat next to me (He's a long time fan! We both went to see the Chems in 1999 @ Palladium Hollywood) told me that this is his favorite track of the album. Dissolve got more people to dance all of a sudden because it has that psychedlic grooviness that made this couple that looked like they were in their 60's, dance!
Dissolve
Horsepower...MY GOD!
Words...aren't...enough...to.....describe..it! I think the Bros kicked the volume up alittle on this one!
The screeching noises went far beyond the surrounding neighborhood. The best part was in the middle of the song where its stripped and all you have is that beat going. I was saying to myself 'Go Horse Go'. Tom and Ed I think were in a great comfort zone at this time. And for the first time (I'n my experience) I saw Tom actually dance (not just moving back and forth when playing his gear, but full body movement) Ed of course, coming in out of the gear booth to say hello and hyping up the crowd.

Swoon
Tom and Ed were really into it while talking and just pounding away at their gear and having a good time (my god, its almost like the bros were playing like they were in the 90's ) Then off we go to Star Guitar. As always, the euphoric vibe overwhelmingly wins the crowd easily. I recorded the best part!

It's a pleasure!
Meeting you was Connor's highlight, Ed! He's still young and has many shows to see in the future, but it will be a bit tough to top last night's experience!

For some reason they shoul've stayed with the previous version because the crowd wasn't ready for signal to start jumping up and down ( For those who know, The beginning has that buildup where you know exactly when to start jumping up and down, where as this version is similar, but the signal, or audio cue, to start jumping is a little late) Anyway, disappointed in the crowd participation in the beginning ( you know, the chant!) It's still the fucking anthem! At the end of the vid, it looks like there gonna do ARR (It shows the ARR visual) But what is not shown in the vid is that after the ARR visual,(If I can remember, and correct me if i'm wrong if any of you went) they show the teapot breaking then Ed runs off the stage to the left, I guess to take a quick piss or drink!
Hmm! I did'nt see Ed smoke the entire night!
Hey Boy Hey Girl
I like the new Under The Influence. Has some new FX to it. Tom was chopping it up with those lazer sounds. (Big thumbs up to that)

Saturate
I know for a fact when Believe came on, the volume went up higher! So all the wildlife in the the surrounding areas ran off and eventually became roadkill in the nearby streets! But Damn, how much more sound can the Chems pump out! You may want to skip the vid a bit cause i do a lot of jumping in this one (camara shaking)
Believe (Blair witch version:)

Escape Velocity
The people that were sitting in my box left early. So I now had more room to dance in!
I knw KDB was coming up so I got ready for probably the most thrilling theme this summer!
When it came on, I looked up and saw the skylights pointed at the sky and the stars just looking like little spotlights. This was the best moment ( And I mean BEST) I ever had at Chemical Brothers concert. KDB is such joy, mellow, and so many other things that i can't put enough words to describe this heavenly like atmosphere where the wind is cool and the music evokes such a pleasure of just being alive.

Chemical Beats
My answer was justified when the Love is All came up. I was so content and hungry for more Chems, that I felt maybe tonight was just giving me a bigger appetite for things to come.

Positives
Great diverse crowd (fan loyalty)
Room to Dance
Beer (Duh!)
Great Weather
Good Sound (a little off on SG but good recovery)
Tom's and Ed's Energy
Negatives
Expensive Fan Merchandise
Lame Security ( As mentioned before)
One of the Opening Acts played to long (cough 'Chromeo' cough)
And of course...THE CURFEW...(Probably the first and the last time The Chems come here!)
The show was impeccable! Tom and Ed did their job of commanding a peformance that stimulated all of the sensors that our body has. The great energy they provided was contagious, as well as taking the entire crowd on an audio/video journey.
Thank You's
To the guy who bought my ticket!
The Parking structure @ Highland and Hollywood. Cheapest parking ever!
Heineken®
To the guy who sat next to me in the box! Good to know your stuff, except for the fact that you don't have the Further album (Shame) K.I.T
To the lady I met near the restrooms. Get a job! Your boyfriend is right over there! Tell him to get you some money!
To Dave (I think) See you next show! Good to see a fan just as crazy as I am!
Big Thank You's
Whirls and Family! Good to see you again! My Chemical sister to the south Nice to meet you guys again.....But you got to meet T and E again! What about me! What about hooking a brotha up! What ever happened to 'Love is All' Next show will be better! Maybe I'll go with the clown make-up!
Bosco,Biff,Pooter,K3N5T3R,MIKL (anybody else I forgot) ..love you all, even if you didn't make it or we didn't bump into each other!
Finally...
Tom and Ed! Thanks for going the extra mile to come to here again! Love you guys! Thanks for an awesome show!

I think a big issue for people joining in is that the bowl packed. There was hardly any room. We were lucky that we had an isle seat and the row in front of us ended before our seats, but it was really crowded.
Besides it's an LA show which tends to bring out the trendy crowds at times. LA shows tend to have people that come late just for the main act and then bail.
I would really like to see the Chems team up with the guys that did Nine Inch Nail's Lights in the Sky stage show. They have such great visuals, it would be cool to see them with multiple screens NIN used. It gave a cool sense of depth to the NIN's visuals.

I loved the videos. Generally, it seems like they are doing some really cool improvisation (with filters, effects especially)
And I really liked hearing bits of HTL in K+D+B, and I love the bits of Denmark that they've been putting in Believe.
Smashing!

I'll have to wait till I get home to indulge in all those videos or I'll get some crazy looks from people walking past reception!
So glad you all had a fantastic time!
Too bad about the curfew. I know the feeling...
