We had a day to celebrate independence day at my work today, which was weird because our boss doesn't even celebrate St Paddys or St Georges day and we're in the UK. Oy oy oy!

Although i am happy, I leave my job on 1st of August, start new one on the 12th, Im going to Sri Lanka for 3(ish weeks) hopefully next year with my friend to work at this elephant sanctuary and do a bit of exploring! AND i have my train tickets, Chemical Bro's tickets and have a hotel booked, Yus! xx

Sounds wicked, Mitzi. A big thumbs up to working in an elephant sanctuary. Very cool! (And of course getting the Olympia plans underway). Have you seen the Chemical Brothers before?

graysquire - hahahaha! It's funny stuff with the whole pronunciations and spellings. I couldn't agree more with the whole chips and vinegar thing because I absolutely despise ketchup. :P And that bit about Andie McDowell was right on.

I love KETCHUP! I used to be obsessed with the stuff, not so much anymore :)

Hey matt! good to hear from you mate!

I just got back in L.A. hours ago, and I was surprised at your post when i got through the door.

I would've definitely let your girlfriend paint my face for 2 hours if I made it to the show but you always represent the Chems in your unique way. And just think of all the photo opportunities you'll get from complete total strangers when they see you!

I had an extraordinary July 4th weekend with my girlfriend. There are a few versions that I have of the events which transpired the last 72 hours with different ratings, suitably G, PG, PG-13 and R for various settings. For this one, I'll go with the PG version.

Friday my girlfriend Alexis and I were awkwardly forced to stay at the Mill Casino & Resort, where we expected complete cheesiness. It was indeed cheesy, but we ended up having an awesome time playing craps.

Saturday night we went to a rather out-of-the-way party to engage in some out-of-the-ordinary activities, and to say that these weren't ordinary activities in my case is saying something, indeed.

Sunday I saw WALL-E, and it was endearingly cute. I was happy that I got to see it with my girlfriend, although it wasn't quite as amazing as some had said. Perhaps my expectations were a bit heightened by hype. I will say, however, that it was a very, very well done Pixar film.

Glad someone had a nice 4th!!

Mine kinda sucked - from Thursday night's weirdness to ditching out on the gig early, to getting way too late a start on the 4th, falling on the rocky tidepools and fucking up my leg and both hands, working Saturday, then spending yesterday with my dying grandmother... Yeah, another holiday strike out for me but what are ya gonna do?

I did get to see Wall-E and I enjoyed it. Come to think of it, Wall-E was actually the only decent part of my weekend.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about the injury, Whirls! :-(

I hope your grandmother is handling this as well as she can. You're wonderful for being with her. ::hugs::

I hate to be back after the 4th of july weekend. It went so quick, and doing the 'back to work' thing just makes me want to request another vacation. I'm glad you guys are all back though!

@pooter

At least your one month away from chemical euphoria!

@whirly

You always have such an enthusiasm for whatever life throws at you. (funny . .that kind of sounded like a fortune cookie!) You can always have a 4th of July re-do this weekend. That would be cool . .you and your family at the park and i'll cook all the hot dogs, ribs and hamburgers you want!

Did you want yours well done? :)

mmmm. Fortune cookies!!

Super happy family phun thyme in the park sounds nice... but I'll need to pick up some veggie dogs on the way. A shame they don't grill right at all. Actually veggie dogs on the grill are a down right travesty. :lol:

But you're right - there's always the opportunity of a re-do this coming weekend. Just going to play it mellow. Nothing terribly exciting is planned but I'm looking forward to having less drama and weirdness!

I have had some excited and... perhaps bad stuff happen!

While doing a radio show with a friend, my parked car (My FIRST car, mind you. A Trans Am) was hit and run by a drunk driver. The police got her, though, and she will pay for all the repairs that need to be done to it. But it gets better.

Her insurance company comes and inspects the damage and says that it's 750 bucks away from being totaled. On top of that, the battery in it flat out DIES a few days before, so we have to jump it to get it to the body shop. They tell me that it probably WILL get totaled. On top of THAT, I'm almost out of gas, so I have to go fill it up, but turning off the car would mean I'd have to jump it again, right? My dad's brilliant idea was to fill the car up WHILE it was running. The 30 seconds it took to get 20 bucks of gas in the car was kinda scary.

So! Yeah. Fun times. Eugh.

That sounds like a dramatic weekend--glad you're okay, though.

On a more somber note, a family friend was shot three times in the chest in Washington, D.C. last weekend. He is alive, but had to get his spleen removed.

My god, Pooter. I don't even know what to say... I am so sorry to hear about your friend and I'm so glad he will be OK. I can't imagine the pain he's in, bless his heart. With the recent supreme court ruling in favor of gun ownership rights, hearing and reading stories like this that take place in our capital are sickening. Ugh!!! It makes me so angry and sad and at a loss for words...

inchemwetrust - I haven't eaten a hot dog in nearly 20 years so I've forgotten what a real actual hot dog actually tastes like, haha! As for the eye patch - just go with it. Paint a crazy design on it or something so it would look less "argh matey!!". A Dig Your Own Hole eye patch would be kinda cool. hmmm...

Vorpal - I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt and you're damn lucky you weren't in the car or worse, on the road driving when this occurred. I'm sorry but drunk drivers can go fuck right off. I'm glad johnny law caught the fool that did this. Keep fighting and make your insurance company keep on fighting for you!

Pooter, glad your family friend is ok! I hope he recovers fast and feel better in no time!

Thanks Whirly. I get to go to said drunk driver's court hearing, and I'll make sure she gets hers.
