You have to listen more and more to WTN ,maybe after 2 weeks of listening it will bi easier for you to review the album. For myself,it's always the same with a new Chemical Brothers album, even more i listen to it the song just become better and i think the most fans here are like that. That's just the chemical beat ! ;-)

I see what you mean chemical_medo, and I think there are others here who will agree with you. There are some songs that just need time to grow on you. And sometimes there are songs that, no matter how many tries you give, you just aren't feeling them so it's time to pick up and move on to something else. but I'm with preochem and Jeanie on this one. For me, it was love at first listen with We Are The Night, and the love is still going strong after god knows how many listens!

I agree with chemical_medo. While I was at the music shop listening to it for the first time, I was thinking 'what the hell is this?? I want the old chems back!', except for burst generator (love at first listening!). Then I thought I could give it a chance..and I was right! The more I listen to it, the more I'm in love with it.

I know how you feel raggiante, I felt the same way with Come With Us. I just wasn't feeling it at first, but the more I listened the more I liked. It is still not my favorite Chems album out of the bunch but the Chems have been the only band that have managed to teach me to give something another chance and let it grow on me...
I read an article/review about We Are The Night that I posted in one of the threads here. It was a positive review, but one thing the writer of the article said was that We Are The Night unfolds as an album should, there are a lot of things that you might not catch on first listen - and I think about that every time my ear catches something I didn't hear before.

If you're shocked by those 3 stars, have a look at this: 1 star and the reviewer even hopes they'll split!

The point is that I was pretty disappointed by Push The Button (it's their worst albun IMHO), so I was somehow afraid I wouldn't like this new album at all. When I listened to it in the shop, I must tell you I was wondering whether to buy it or not. But then I thought the Chems are one of my two favourite groups, so I could give them a chance. Now I'm really happy with my choice: I'm going to the seaside in a few days and this album will be the soundtrack of my holiday! :)

Meh, I'm not bothered too much by the negative reviews. Let them have their bitter opinions, I say. It sounds like this Jim Di Gioia guy should have taken an antacid beforehand. Actually, sounds like he really needs to see his proctologist as his gastrointestinal disorders are clearly affecting his hearing.

The album certainly grew on me a lot and I do like it. Don't think it's their best necessarily but I really don't know where I'd slot it and I think that's a good thing.
(It has, somehow, made me drop my opinion of Push the Button a fair bit though, a few outstanding tracks excepted.)
