I'm probably the only one here who never checked any of the after sunglasses videos, so Don't Think was completely new to me. I swear I felt on first listen this is the first chemical brothers song I don't agree with, until the don't think vocal kicks in and the whole song goes BOOM. weirdly the next time I hit play I am absolutely in love with the whole song. The second part is the shite!

There's a sound in the background of Don't Think that really reminds me of "Whoomp! There It Is"...

edit: in fact listening again I'm fairly sure it is. It's most noticeable at 2:22

I would maybe have the testicular audacity to argue don't think wouldve been better suited for further than horse power in the sense that the latter is real mad and a bit dark, whereas don't think is a bit more around there with dissolve and swoon with album placement. I picture horse power more being a ebw in the same vein as acid children or ebw 6. But those transitions especially for horse power really make it all go together, probably one of the best on a chems album in my opinion, especially that first listen where you know it's coming next... But just for the sake of extra credit for speech and debate, I think it's an interesting choice to pick horse power over don't think. Maybe I'll change my mind when I hear it on the 22nd.

But I was wondering the same thing about Horse Power earlier today as I was giving Further (yet) another go. Horse Power is the section of Further that feels like it flows through the more turbulent waters of the musical journey. It's strange because I don't feel Horse Power necessarily breaks the stream of the album - mainly because it's mixed in there so superbly. But it is different in feel and structure than the other songs. It sort of reminds me of older Chems (post Come With Us). I guess if I had to compare it to another song on Further it would be most like Escape Velocity. But I don't know for sure yet. I'm still in the process of digesting Further.

I definitely feel the same about this sounding like an EBW. I was talking with Jack's Revenge about this before earlier this week before I had listened to Further, and he was saying Horse Power is a dirty track and the first thing that popped into my mind was EBW9, which is (IMO of course) the Chemicals at their very darkest.

OMG Don't Think is AWESOME ! They should have put it on Further, I think between K + D + B and Wonders Of The Deep !

One of their best B-Sides (shame it's a b-side) ever !
