So Pumisher, just to clarify. You are referring to the high pitch tones on the Run DMC (MTV Raps) clip from 0.47 onwards. Is that right?
They also start at about 11 secs on this studio version:


Because I'm quite sure that they're sampled from the track I posted (3.35). Or have I misunderstood your original post?

I'd listen to it again on the time mark you've posted on your first post - and yes, that is the sample. Must have missed it on first listen. But my initial question was not from where the sample comes from but in which other song it was used. I'm pretty sure i've listen to "the other song" a lot of times, but i don't know which one it was. Maybe Beastie Boys or Prodigy.

Try to find it in whosampled.com, seems whole bunch of rappers sampled it, if it's any help.

I understand that. But (as Sandelic suggests) lots of people (over 200!) have sampled it. So I'm saying, now you know what the sample is from, you will have to do some internet trawling to figure out/narrow down what other record(s) you know that sampled Nautilus. I doubt we can guess out of 200+ records which one(s) you know the sample from. I suppose if the Brothers had sampled it, we would make an educated guess...

ps: FWIW, I don't think the Prodigy did sample it
pps: I briefly thought that the 'tinkly' bit on FSOL's Papua New Guinea sounded like this sample. But it isn't.

Yeah, that's excatly what I thought and looked up first. But I am almost certain that I heard it somewhere before but I can't seem to figure it out. It's like having something on the tip of your tongue but you can't phrase it.

that high pitched tone is from Ninja Tune/coldcut. I think from the solid steel mix intro's but I'm not entirely sure.

that orchestronica sounds like an interesting concert. I remember seeing laidback luke playing Da Funk with a live Cellist on MTV which was great. What chemical brothers track would we like to hear with an orchestra?

In other news, I keep finding clients who do not have enough money to pay me. And their disputes involve sums of money that do not make my involvement worth my cost. This is not a good thing.

2) I'm not involved in 'lawyering' but one thing I have learned from business is that it's easy to find crap customers, the challenge is to find the good ones. I wish you all the good fortune in the world in snaffling those guys.
