By the way, there seemed to be some extra lyrics on Snow. Well, not really "lyrics" but extra sung voices like "lalala"...

And I forgot to mention : the "Fucking awesome acid house" sample from Chemical Beats was played at the beginning of the encore.

"James Holroyd playing beutiful records right now"

It seems like Ed enjoyed it much more than we did!

Though I have seen many middle finger in the air ^^

Hi guys !!!!
I'm a newbie on the forum and I was here for Chemical Brothers at Zenith ... and it was a GREAT moment !!!!!!!!
I've danced all the night and I've never seen this place with everyone standing up like that.... Amazing !
Zenith was transformed into a huge rave party !:-D:o

Obviously, about the 1st part beforce Chemical, I've seen that a lot of people here didn't like it but for me it was an amazing mix (electro & disco.... so good !!!!) which made me dance on my chair before concert !
Apparently as you say here, it would be James Holroyd but I can't find any information about that:roll:
So... anyone knows where I can find the mix during 1st part ??? I'd love to get it !!!
Thanks for your help !

(Sorry for my poor english  )

Personally I found James Holroyd good but waaayyy too long. He played for like 3 hours ! He played good music but mostly slow and chilly not pure warming techno as I hoped.
At the end, people started to lose patience and booed him.

I think they're on the record, but you can't hear them well because they're back-up harmonies. I guess they just dropped some layers of lyrics for the version of the track they used in the show, and that's why they sound unfamiliar.

Ed and Tom, don't get us wrong, the show is super cool and if you played here for a week we would be there every night.. By the way, I had never seen the Zenith so PACKED for an electro show. i mean, even a lot of people who had bought seated tickets went down to the pit and danced. Way to go, Brothers !

And the final :

At 0:47 you can hear the scream I made when I realized they were about to play you know what.
I'm sorry if the quality sucks and if the videos are short, but I only had a cellphone, and I didn't want to stay all the concert long behind it.

Consider the videos a souvenir. I still have phone vids form my last 3 shows but not quality worthy either.

The Burst Generator viz with TPPR.....I'll think about it!!!

Absolutely glowing review! best part was this:

Quote

Les DAFT PUNK (première partie des Chemicals dans une autre époque...) vont désormais sérieusement avoir un problème pour égaler les maitres du Big Beat.

which when translated basically says that Daft Punk is going to have serious problems trying to reach the level that the Chems are at now.

Rough translation said:

The bar is really difficult to achieve now. The DAFT PUNK (part of Chemicals in another time ...) will now have a serious problem to meet the masters of the Big Beat. It is indeed a great night of Prodigy to approach the power of the set of Chems. Because musically no debate between the gentle melodies of DAFT PUNK and killing Chems sound of the confrontation, the show delivered (Alive 2007 is in many memories ...) will be exciting!

I think God himself would have trouble to beating them nowadays- Im still reeling (pun intended) from the show cant think about anything else- what sums it up for me was the friend I went with has had to listen to me bang on and on about the live show and made to listen/watch clips for years. Although she appreciates electronic/dance music and the boys it's not her first choice in music yet was completely blown away by it her only words throughout the gig was "WOW" at the start, about half way through "I completely understand what your on about now" and finally at the end- "well that's it now I dont want to go to anything else because it's all just f**king sh*t compared to that"

I don't believe in God but...

Hi, chemical sisters & brothers. After a mindblowing week end i come here to give you my review. The concert is my number 2 on my favourite chems shows. Just after the november 2007 one. I travelled into Pendemonium, saw God & the devil manipulate at me with lasers, acid noises, amazing lights and, for me the most important demential transitions. THAT'S THE POINT. They really innovate their music for the show.

But before anything, i arrived only 30 min before the start. In fact i had to go to Lille (a city 2hours far away Paris) right after the concert. But my car had problem with vapour evacuation ! No ventilation ! but after seeing my mother i found a solution, drive with the air conditionning ! it wastes fuel but no choice to see my friend at Lille. So i quicly came back to home, take some stuffs (teethbrush, underwears !) and drive to the zenith. During 30 min on the motorway no problem, i'm happy, i'll be at Paris in 20-25 min. Then suddenly a MOTHER FUCKER MONSTER traffic jam ! At only 20-25 min to Paris ! Damn ! I look at the clock : " 6: 50 pm". Ok no panic. But it didn't move ! 45 minutes to make five KM !! then at eight pm, still in the traffic ! I said to myself ok, we always wait one hour and half or more before the start ! Finally i'm in Paris, too much traffic lights, people who drive slowly ! At 8:45 i'm serarching a place ! No one ! so i decided to put my car just right back a bus stop ! Don't care if ther took it ! I can't miss the show ! My friend are a little bit worried, asking me where am i by cellphone ! I escaped from my car at 9 pm, run to the zenith and find friend at 9:10. THREE fucking hours to join the zenith while it take 45 min/1hour.

I'm here, so i lead my friend in the front and i appreciate waiting, i'm hearing Holroyd playing nice stuff and the MOST NICE thing is that i didn't any video on youtube except the last september show. so i'm excited i don't know what will happen. So come tomorrow never knows, always a pleasure, i enjoy listen this track on the morning to wake up my self in train or car. Tom & Ed came, i just saw Tom, Ed quickly jumped back the decks ! HEY ED ! YOU FORGOT OWA ? what the hell your head was thinking to ? Galvanize/Do it again/get yourself high is well known but really good to remember where you are and jump into the show. The transition with do it again was enough new to have a good surprise. So came with my friend a lot of"yeahhhhh !"

Right after they dropped horse power ! I don't like this track except the break. But i must admit that's a monster for the live ! The end was insane with this LOUD & LOUD & LOUD & LOUD & LOUD fx scream and an acid line who's been written by Lucifer ! and then slowly your could hear the acid synth of chemical beats ! So now with those two tracks linked between the thing is clear: the chems are having a fight with us and they are here to win ! Ok boys, i'm here ! I'll show you who is Mike Tyson in the house ! So jumpin high, make large movements with my arms, my friend was simulating tom manipulate the decks on my head and my back ! I had difficulties to breath ! Nevermind, i can't lose. Then came "Swoon", a nice track to find a second breath, i love the visuals and it's a nice pop record ! the transition with star guitar was WONDERFUL a kind of deep house wich was so beautiful, so deep and the track have been reworked in a really nice way. The transition with "three little.." to drop hey boy hey girl is great to ! You couldn't wait for that ! The synth "biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" is here and the zenith is ready to celebrate the most famous anthem of the chems ! The new visuals are nice too ! A ninja is telling you "come here, i'm fighting with you !" ha ha ha mother fucker who do you think we are ! My brain gave me the force we jumped, we jumped, closing our eyes, moving arms so far in the air, knocking people around us ! yeah man that's a chems concert !

Right after "don't think" a track that i like live and was really good to dance with ! I find it to "easy" for a chems track ! that's a "lazy" track for me if you compare it to complex sounds of "pionneer skies" "it began in afrika" or "escape velocity". So it was ok with a big soundsystem but not my favourite part ! They played "out of control" with "setting sun" a really good mix BUT it was less powerful than the 2007 version wich is still for me an unbelievable masterpiece, an alltime classic of psychedelism and generators noises. I love out of control in live, that a real rave sound !

Is it interesting to talk about saturate/believe ? No because we all like this combo. But yes because "believe" in live is THE GREATEST moment for me. If you look back to my review three years ago, i already mentionned that. It's so POWERFUL, the break/buil up is a killer ! i couldn't be quite. I was holding my head in my hands, scream & scream "come on ! putainnnnnn ! yeahhhhhhh ! alllezzzzzzzzzzz! ALLEEEEEEZZZZZZZ !" the fx effect is the devil incarned !

after a synth landscape arrived "escape velocity". the greates space sound that i'll ever heard ! i really really enjoy detroit techno and Red planet melodies for example. But that my brothers and sisters...It's the heaven for me. There is so much emotions : redemption, happiness, hope, sadness, regrets, love, friendship and hedonism. I specially LOVED how Ed let the decks and came to the crow with his arms asking us to enjoy the intro of this track ! It was so beautiful to see him feel in his body the beauty of it ! I really really appreciate that, it was so instincive, so powerful, without any doubt, the greatest Ed's movement that i saw since my first show ! This song make me believe in god. The god of music. How can you produce a such intro ? a such nice synths build up ? I love the effects for the second build up and the vocal of Golden Path is mixed so well ! It's perfect with the spirit of that sound !

Then a nice surprise ! Superflash ! a techno track ! love the "click" of the flash ! a friend of mine told me "that's for you !" when we saw the visuals, because i love photography and practice it a lot since one year. It's like you're sucked up in Pendemonium and knocked by lights and this sexy disco jet set voice "superflash" ! you can add an "han han" after the woman "superflash" voice and it's the sexiest chems track ! I hope it will availaible on vynil this year...And the little clowns followed by the mad one is a BRILLIANT visual ! so funny ! really really good fine !!!

Leave home/Block rockin' beats are still good moments ! And the third great experience was snow/surface to air ! It has been dropped on a such beautiful way ! it's wonderful ! the voice is so nice ! really love it, i can't get enough of hear it on youtube ! After came EBW6. Mental, crazy, killer synths. The craziest track for me. Like you're in a brain drived by space moutain ! and for the end they played the reel ! I feel in peace, happy, that's the end, let it flow ! so jump, jump, simulating synths touching...the sound was loud and tom work it out with the octave one !

The visual are innovating 'love snow.surface to air, hey boy hey girl, the cylinders with "love is all". The transitions are really good, Ed & Tom seem so happy to have this tour and they seemed to enjoy the show ! Derrick May said that he sees his dj performance as a fight between him and the crowd. Friday, the chems beat me. By points not by KO. But the knock out wasn't so far. Hope you'll came back at the end of the year. Congratulations and have a good tour !

ps: i'm tired, sorry for the syntax errors or other mistake...

So glad to hear that. I convinced my niece and nephew to join me in Sydney. I have hyped it up so much they keep saying that it's gonna have to be "reeeeally good" or I'm gonna look a fool. How can anyone not be blown away by this show.
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

Epic review Owa!

Traffic is always a priority for me when getting to gigs so I always give my self a cushion of 2 hours just in case (tire blowout, traffic jam, nausea)

But you got there in time! Glad you got to see them!

That is a great review, Owa - really appreciate you taking the time to write so much detail, not just what you were hearing but what you were feeling throughout the show. I love the heaven and hell imagery in how you describe those powerful moments, and your overall excitement, love and appreciation really shines through in what you wrote! Nice one!
