I was bored (once more), so I tried to re-create the Chemical Beats bassline with my Juno (since that's what they used). Since I have no Big Muff anymore and I have no working battery for my MetalZone, I used the disto of Ableton (called Overdrive), and it lacks the "messy" sound of the Big Muff I guess.

EDIT : better version with the Boss MetalZone for the disto :

"uh (booom)..uh-uh"

Nice, yeah just got that version of Ableton too, pretty fresh. My favorite distortion right now is Ibanez Shashbox (SM-7), which is essentially a knock of a Metal Zone with some extras (noise gate), one of which might be good for you is that it offers a switch called "Sharp" which gives a high end Fuzz, good for assault on the ears, though I haven't tried it on my Juno yet, since I just got it working after being (literally) voiceless since 2008.

So, according to the ask Tom & Ed, they used a boss heavy metal distortion pedal. Probably the MetalZone ? :) I'll try as soon as I get a new battery

SO ! I managed to save my Juno ! I sold other bullshit stuff, I'll have to eat rice and pasta for one or two more months but I'll keep the Juno. To celebrate this, I bought a battery for the MetalZone distortion pedal and tried to get a better Chemical Beats sound with those two little monsters :

I updated the first post.
What do you think ?

EDIT : I got the rolling snare (a 909 snare), the original sample from Jimmy McGriff - The Worm, the loud bassdrum (an 808 BassDrum), now I need the "Huh" sample, does anyone know where it comes from ?

That's an excellent remake right there! Guess all we needed was a little advice from the Bros. :)
