I was thinking... rather than post your remixes of Chems tunes and mixes/comps in other threads where they run the risk of being buried and potentially lost forever - why not post them here in this shiny new thread and keep them all in one place? That goes for other mixes you come across on the interwebz, even if you didn't make them yourselves.

Satur8, Chops - I am looking in your direction to kickstart this thread. ;)

Please enjoy my new mix, Dusty Beats.

It would be great if the old vinyl-only tracks were remastered and released the next time we're in a dry spell.

This mixtape is presented turntable style, flat vinyl EQ and all.

----------- EDIT:

The track list provided on the site was auto-generated by mixcloud and is incomplete. If someone has a better suggestion of where to post this mix, please let me know; soundcloud is not an option this time.

Private message me if you want a track list or a copy of the mix.
Gonna work it out...

Awesome! This Is Big Beat at it's best!

i love the fact that it is fully possible to have a downtempo mix, a techno set or a Big Beat breakin' set that are distinctly different but consist entirely of music by the chemical brothers. their stuff is so diverse and high quality that it trancends just one genre. It will not be long before we can add a CB hip-hop mix (left right, galvanize, salmon dance) and a psychedelic rock mix (Let forever be, Setting the Sun, Out of control) to the list of genre specific, chems only mixes.

@ EIS-T - Thanks man, I had a feeling you would like this one. You know, we're about due for one of yours....

@ Chops - Thanks! Just curious, which ones did you consider brave? I'll admit, I usually start my mixes off a little weird and rely on the build up to set them straight. I thought this one was somewhat basic other than the inclusion of Patrol and Connection No. 1.

Speaking of which, thanks again to Whitenoise for his contribution!

Here is the full track list. I'm happy to set up a Dropbox or different form of tansfer if anyone wants an mp3 copy.

Dusty Beats

Patrol (Chemical Brothers Mix) - The Charlatans
Song To The Siren
Connection No. 1 - Harpoon (Tom Rowlands)
Let Me In Mate
Packet of Peace (Chemical Brothers Remix) - Lionrock
Dust-Up-Beats (original version)
In Dust We Trust
Tow Truck (Chemical Brothers Mix) - The Sabres Of Paradise
T-Baby (The Dust Brothers Remix) - Ariel (with Tom Rowlands)
Fuck Up Beats
Loops OF Fury
Chemical Beats
Three Little Birdies Down Beats
My Mercury Mouth
(The Best Part Of) Breaking Up
Morning Lemon
These Beats Are Made For Breakin'
Prescription Beats
Life Is Sweet (Remix 1 / Remix 2)
Her Jazz
Song To The Siren (Sabre 100% Chunk Mix)

the dust in trust section was where i meant. its just such a busy track that i thought it might be a bit too muchgoing on but i thought you did well with it and made the right sounds more prominent. having done a couple of chems mixes now , i feel that with a lot of their tracks you have to let them breathe on their own and some tracks are very hard to pick the right moment to bring in and out with overshadowing the other track or taking something away. Like The sunshine underground for example is just such a piece of work on its own it would be hard to mix in with anything else

Ah yes, I was very happy with the way that bit turned out. I suppose you're correct, the intro was unconventional and the outro was as basic as it gets. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with you, the complexity of their music does pose a challange for merging tracks without taking away from the orginal product. However, for this particular big beat mix, some of those same effects helped highten the tranisitions for me.

I love working with the chems' music, but it really does take more than a simple beatmatch.
Gonna work it out...

yeah, although sometimes there's still a lot going on, there's parts of the mixes i have done that have sounded like a great "third" track if you like. It is trickier than just beatmatching but its a good feeling when you get something that works
