Salmon Dance and Do It Again are Connor's favorite tracks off We Are The Night. He does a pretty good impression of saying "Do It Again" by tweaking his voice so it sounds deep (as deep as a 9 year old'd voice can be). It's weird. He also did this funny thing the other day with his Darth Vader mask that has this voice contorter built inside. He sneaks across the dining area to me while I'm on the computer and I can hear the heavy Darth Vader breathing as he comes closer to me. Then in Darth Vader voice he says, "Mom... Mom....... Do it again!! Do it again!!"

Whirly and Stash - u've got a wicked boy there! Take him to the gig in Cali this time, do they have age restrictions n stuff?

Such a shame... what a shame...
Y'all are breaking my heart here. If these songs are losing their appeal for you, and it's still over a month away from release date, then something is amiss. Burn out. Whoah there... You've overplayed. Take a deep breath, step away from the mp3's and regroup in July.
We're thinking of taking Connor to a Chems gig. We've been pondering it for a while now but that's sort of mom n'dad's night out if you know what I mean. :P Plus there are some venues that have have age restrictions. We've only seen the Chems play at festivals (Coachella is all ages, Audiotistic had restrictions) but dragging a little kid to an all day event in the heat wouldn't be much fun for him or mom n'dad.
But it is tempting. I think he'd have a good time and he'd be dazzled by the lights and lazers. Mmmmm. Lazers. We're definitely up for a Los Angeles gig as mom n'dad's night out but we're thinking of heading up to N. California if they do a gig there too. So that would be a good one to bring Connor too, if there's not an age limit. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's a good poa. I get the dad n mum's night out, it is kinda complicated - i hope they play more than one gig near u so u can get him some fun too.
And no, I've made myself enough clear - it's just the quality that got to me finally - so I have stopped spinning the album for now, but for the ocassional one or two songs here and there on my drive to work - I'm gonna come back to this album in July and I'm sure nothing's gonna be amiss then, once my "audiophile" ears are catered too. Cause if something is still amiss, it'd really be a shame, it'd be my first Chems album that's anything less of spectacular and timeless - I've played them all a zillion times, and there's never ever been any burn out. It's just the quality whirly, so relax, i'm still very much on the boat!

No offence whirly man. But I don't think I can overplay a Chemical album. I've spent months in the past killing 'Brothers albums and I never get bored with them. It's like every play through, you pick up on a slightly different sound that you didn't realise previous times. And when you hear the sound it gives you goosebumps, adds to the experience of the album. Makes you want to listen more and more untill you find another new sound. I personally will always be in the boat and come July I will still be getting the goosebumps

Just a note on the spelling of "laser" - it's not "lazer" as it is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. < / end of Grammar nazi >
I find that I just don't like 0.01% of chems songs. That 0.01% is The Salmon Dance which is funny for about the first 3 times you play it and then just doesn't really do anything for me.

I just don't want to see anyone burnout before it's time, is all. Especially you, Jack because I know how much you love this album. :)
I'm with you surface_to_air - for as much as I listen to the Brothers, their music manages to sustain me and reveal new things even after what must be a million and 1 plays.
And Martin, we yanks are lazy with the spelling, you know that! ;)

why do u think so mX? I actually like the tunes a lot unlike a close friend of mine whose not been able to connect with this album. I really dig it - I just really hate the quality - I've never heard the Chems on mp3s - i have pretty high end systems both at home and in my car and the mp3s of the new album suck on them - I'm pretty sure I'm gonna dig this album, time shall tell. July.

without a doubt prochem.
I've listened to the album a lot lately and i get real excited on my way to work as i can blast them out on the nightclub gear in the basement bar. Everything being boosted the way chems intend them (loud), makes it an easy evening of work to get through.
I've noticed a lot more going on in Do It Again, the swooshing in Modern Midnight is unreal in surround and Burst Generator has gotten all the other staff in a buzz every time it's played. That's not to mention the rest of the album.
But then, saying all that, a LOT of the music i play in work sounds way better and deeper on the BSS.

wait till u play this one on cd. there's a lot more happening which isn't even coming through on these ripped versions. and i can't play this very loud volumes anymore, the quality is pathetic.
