So, I'm not one to go "omg look at this game gsuy" on random forums, but this game is not only amazing but seems appropriate to post here!

The game is Audio Surf. An indie puzzle/music game. The catch? You import your own music into it. The game engine generates a complete course and ride to the track as you glide along gathering up these blocks in a puzzle game that I can closely compare to Tetris.

I got a chance to play some of the beta and I gotta say... any and all of the Bro's songs is pure euphoria with this game. It's hard to explain, so here's someone playing Kraftwerk's Tour De France:

Now just imagine that with Burst Generator, Come With Us or Elektrobank. Yeah. I know.

I think you mean http://www.gametrail...ies/160630.html

because the link you posted seems to be some weird game called "Medieval 2"...

Still, that actually looks fairly impressive :)

Really? Damnit, GameTrailers. Thank you. ^^;

Doesn't it? There's another weekend beta test on the 19th. I'm pretty sure it's an open one, if any of you wanna check it out.

So, I'm smack dab in the middle of Audiosurf's second weekend beta test. And, I know the the forum noob at this point, but I gotta say, after playing this game some more... go check it out if you have the means. Just about every Chems song I've played on there is kick ass, if not just beautiful. If you're not into gaming, there's even a free ride option that lets you just float around. You're going to have to be daring and trust me on this one! I know it's hard. =P

OK, I'm going to check this out.

I have been avoiding clicking on that link because Tetris (or any game that is similar) may as well be crack it's so addicting.

It IS addicting. I think I spent 18 hours in total playing yesterday. >.>

And thanks Dan! Yeah, Reel is completely awesome. Burst Generator, We Are The Night, Come With Us, Enjoyed are also amazing. Asleep From Day is oddly really amazing too. The tracks glides along to the vocals perfectly. It's not super intense, but it certainly is dreamlike.

Also, it seems that the server is currently down. It might be general issues being addressed or it might mean that the beta for this weekend is over. =( But I wouldn't fret over it - the devs have been making every weekend a beta weekend, so I'm sure yous guys can get your chance.

And only SOME of the modes are Tetris-like in nature. (I played more than one mode yesterday - what a concept!) The Mono ships are really fun and more about dexterity than thinking ahead. Makes focusing on the music more fun anyway. You just dodge grey blocks and collect the colored ones.

OK, this game has me hooked. God damn it!!!

I played Believe as my first game and I sucked horribly. Then I played Surface To Air and fared much much better.

I have to figure out which song to play next.

This game is fun! I wish they made if for the PS3 (or Xbox). How awesome would that be?

OK - back to playing. I think this time I'm going to try Out Of Control...

After realizing how you actually play this game....Yah this looks kick ass!

The first chems song that comes to mind is clip kiss just for the opening craziness with synth line and the part right after the loooonnnnngggg basss note.

I could also imagine the 'animal' track (either the brixton or summercase youtube versions) in this with it's fast bass line. (Yes I' know Tom and Ed have shelved it but I'm still obsessed with it)

that's the one thing that sucks about being a mac user though...oh well....

What's up with the super short demo? I closed the screen, then opened it back up, went to log in and customize the music and that was no longer option as the demo had expired. I only got to play a couple of games and had looked forward to wiling away my evening being a PC gaming zombie. Shucks.

I tried reinstalling it, but I couldn't skip past the tutorial (or maybe I'm doing something wrong). Once the tutorial ended, so did my music listening options (the music that comes with the game isn't bad, but the game play is soooooo much better with the Chems!)

Hmmm... can't wait to get the fully loaded, buyable version of this game. And I think it would do Xbox and Sony good if they picked this game up for console gaming.

Audio Surf rules. I've played it with Vorpal a couple of times.

This game is just brilliant. It's fun to play it with some artists but so far the Brothers have been taking names.

And whirly I know what you mean about the Audio Surf mishap. Since the game isn't actually OUT yet these little demos seem to expire super quick. So if you close out of the program and try to go back into it, chances are you can't. Yeah, it sucks. Comes out in Feb. though! Looking forward to that. :)

I need to check back here more! I'm so glad you're digging it Whirly and all! I agree - it's like it was almost made with The Chems in mind. I also agree that Sony of Microsoft should grab it. Though, I'd still always play it on the computer. Something about controlling the ship with the mouse is just sweet.

Feel your pain, Rynostar, I'm a mac dude too. Luckily, I have an intel G5 with BootCamp, so I get the best of both worlds! :D As for Clip Kiss, it's pretty fun. Over all, it's just a crazy bumpy ride. One song I don't have is EBW 9. And I just KNOW that'd kick some ass.

I'll keep you all updated, for sure! Either about the release or any beta weekends that might come up. I browse their forums quite a bit - the devs on there are super open to suggestions and are all around awesome guys. And, hey, when the full version is released, we can duke it out online! :D

sweet looking!l

nice, "intel G5" ;)

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Oh crap. I have been playing this game for the past 2 hours. I forgot to eat dinner. Who needs food when you got crack? I mean, AudioSurf. Given it's crack-like qualities and my crack-induced tendancies when it comes to my obsessive compulsive game play, I've concluded that this game is a combination of Tetris and WipeoutXL - 2 of my favorite games of all time (pac man still remains insides a special place in my heart, I don't care what anyone says).

stash found a crack for the beta so it's basically unlimited play with whatever and however many songs you want. The only downer is that since it's a cracked version, you don't have a username and your scores aren't tallied next to your competition.

At least now I'm getting better at the game so when it does come out and I play against my fellow fools, I'll be somewhat decent and not so girly in the competition. :P

I've yet to play The Reel, and I think I'm going to save that for when I own the game. Maybe... It is tempting and I'm sure I'll break down eventually before that time. But for now Sunshine Underground goes exceedingly well with the backdrop and game play, and so does Surface To Air. Those sweepingly epic Chems songs do a game like this good.

Other good tunes that are not of the Chemical kind that go great with AudioSurf are Underworld's Born Slippy and a couple of old skool rave tunes (if you're a fogey like I am and can remember back that far) like Eon 'Spice' and Apotheosis 'O Fortuna'.

Fun stuff.

Born Slippy? I was going to do that, but was in the midst of my 6 hour Chems album play list. =P

There's a crack, really? Mind throwin' the link my way? I mean, I feel bad that the devs really don't want us to play and I'm playing, but then again, I'm addicted and can't get enough. >.>

The good news is that there WILL be a third beta. Not sure when, but when it happens, I'll be sure to tell you all. We can have a Chemical Brothers high scoreboard domination fest. :D

Kind of Wipe Out with Tetris.

Heheh, pretty much Wincent. Personally, I like the Mono modes. it's less a puzzle game and more a dexterity game as you have only one color to catch and you have to dodge a ton of grey blocks. Gives you a chance to really appreciate the generated track and the music a little more so than the color matching modes, I think.

Hey Vorpal - I'm pretty sure my husband 'stash aka makeskidskill got the crack from a place called Pirate Bay. I don't have a link, but I do know that he went to a couple of different torrent sites to get a crack for the game and non of them worked.
