M.I.A. Reportedly Banned In The U.S.A.

M.I.A is reported to have been banned from entering the U.S. by immigration officials. The acclaimed urban star, who was born in the U.K. but raised in Sri Lanka, is understood to have failed in her bid to get a U.S. visa.



M.I.A. (real name: Maya Arulpragasam) has posted a message online explaining the situation, as she begins work on the follow-up to her acclaimed debut LP Arular.



The statement at her MySpace site reveals she is scheduled to work with acclaimed hip -op production pioneer Timbaland on the record, reports the British music weekly NME.



The MySpace posting reads: "I was mennu work with timber startin' this week...I'm locked out! They wont let me in! Now I'm strictly making my album outside the borders"



M.I.A's debut album is believed to have been titled after her father's code name. He is a member of the Tamil Tigers, who continue to fight for independence in Sri Lanka.

Come on 'stash, do you really want celebrities from sri lanka coming in and taking our dishwashing, food serving, and gardening jobs. Pardon my 'merican values but I'd prefer miserable equally underpaid teenagers.

dude, I don't care what her blog sounds like, her songs advocate terrorism, and that makes her SUPAR #1++ in my book.



They use one of her songs for a Honda commercial, and evertime I see it I smile and think, 'Ahhh, Honda supports terrorism'

Fair play. She should go ahead and marry Diplo so she can get her green card. And next time, she should tour with an act that I want to see more than Gwen Stefani.

Yeah, before that tour, she had a show at a tiny little venue up in L.A., and did an instore at the Amoeba Records in San Francisco, as a sort of shout-out for her old school fans. My friend Shane did the 8 hour drive up there to see her.

She is rather 'wikkid' live too if I remember rightly!
