That's why you don't have three pints at lunch when you have to work. Being responsible under such situations is impossible. Leave the drinking for training professionals (or until after work).

Speaking of.... I'm cutting Physiology this afternoon to hoist a few pints and watch the Man U - Benfica and Lille - Villareal games. :D I'll have one for you, chemicalfan.

Actually, I'm skipping mostly because the professor in this section of the course is useless. God, I've understood more after watching David Lynch movies than after the last lecture. Caved in and bought the textbook; who needs to go to class anymore?

I'll tell you what mate, having just done what's you're embarking on, I'll give you a piece of advice. It might seem crap, but I managed to blag an upper 2nd class degree, so:

- Turn up to the lectures, but don't bother making loads of notes, just the odd remark on the hand-outs.

- When the exams come about, just revise that section out of the textbooks.

- Don't worry about reading anything until revision time, unless you've got a project to do. All the reading of journals and that are pointless, don't bother doing that unless you need to for an assignment. Basically, the only work besides assignments you need to do is turn up to the lectures and let them spout crap at you, and then revise out of the textbooks for the exams.

And, enjoy the partying! Only 3/4 years of it, and then you get condemned to a life of work and toil :(

Thanks for the advice, but that's pretty much exactly what I do. I just didn't feel like going to class today, pretty much. I am a firm believer in attendance over dedicated reading.

And 3-4 years of it....? This is Year 5, with three more after it. (Going for my second degree.) I've got school mostly sussed out, but it occasionally throws up a few surprises. At any rate, I appreciate the advice. And trust me, I know school's definetly something to cherish, even if it may not always seem that way.

Hope that last post didn't sound too cocky, because I certainly didn't intend it that way. Would hate to come across as cocky kid who thinks he's got the world by the balls.

No, that's cool mate, I got it.

2nd degree? I thought about doing that, but I just couldn't handle the thought of not being ready for life until I was 28 (after the year's experience and that). Weird, coz I miss uni life, but it didn't feel right for me to put my life on hold for that long. I can't explain it, in fact, I'll probably regret it in 20 years time X-D

My first degree was a Bachelor of Arts in History, which, while very worthwhile, didn't exactly further my career aspirations very much. I could have pursued my Masters and PhD or gone into Law, but neither option really grabbed me by the junk, to be honest.

I decided to pick up a few extra classes while finishing my History degree and now I'm onto pursuing my Pharmacy degree. I'll be 25 when I graduate and should be staring a six-figure starting salary in the face. In the meantime, my girlfriend graduates from uni this year, so I'll have a sugar mommy. :D

Wouldn't be surprised if eventually I came back and got my MBA, though, after a few years as a pharmacist.

let me tell you one thing.

I always HATED school. And that is an understatement. It was a living nightmare for me. But the last year on a theather class changed everything. It made me realise school can be fun to.

And now , i'm 20 , i haven't been to school for 3 years, and i miss it sometimes. What i'm trying to say is...i dont know really.

That school and uni actually really IS important. I realise that now.I miss coming home feeling like i learned something today. I never tought i'd miss that 8O

University definetly is a great experience and often a lot of fun, but you can choose to go at any time (assuming you'll be able to afford it).

The opportunities and experiences you have in front of you with what you're doing now Jeanie are something that can't be passed up, in my opinion, unless you were actually really unhappy with it.

If you're just looking to extend your learning and get some credit for it, most universities offer correspondance courses where you do all the learning on your own time and then submit assignments by mail or internet.

All I know is I've always wanted to be a stunning female model and I never got my chance. 8O ;-)

Me, I loved school (with the exception of math, which I failed miserably. And ethics although fascinating, truly made my brain throb in pain.)

Sometimes I do wonder about the "what if's" if I'd stayed in school. But it's kind of silly to think about such hypothetical situations because they aren't relevant to my life right now.

But so much has happened since I decided to stop going to school. It wasn't a hard decision to make at the time because I was so burned out and confused among other things that got in the way of me getting a proper university education. I've done things and experienced so much that I couldn't have learned sitting in a lecture hall. I wouldn't trade what I've seen and done for the finest education money could buy. And I think, Jeanie, given that you've done so much already in your young life - if you stopped to give it some thought I don't think you'd trade your experiences in Tokyo and New York and wherever (plus the amount of Chemical Brothers chasing you've done ;) ) for something like school which you were so unsure about when you were 17. Life is an education, and life's too short to have any regrets I think.

School will always be around. If you want it, it'll be there.

Agreed. I used to be quite articulate, but I swear I'm losing vocabulary by the minute, becoming dyslexic, and gradually unable to cope with society.

I blame both of my best friends: alcohol and drugs.
