 ^ The part about Come With Us has been something I've discussed before, along with me eating my words. Same thing happened when I originally slated Do It Again as a pop song. I'm always happy to eat my words when it comes to the music proving me wrong. The words kinda taste icky though so good thing it doesn't happen often!!

As for being starstruck, yeah during the first moments - yes, I won't lie. I'm human... A lot of it was nerves beforehand. But I was put at ease immediately.

I know I was starstruck. All I could say was "thank you". I wanted to somehow tell them "I really appriciate you guys comming to the states again". But all I could spit out, was continually saying "Thank You." I felt so lame, but my mind was in a rush, especially since they had to hit the road and I didnt want to delay them anymore.

I just gave this album another thought yesterday, and it evokes emotions in me that only come from a very sacred place.

It's now wrapped in history, tied to memories, burned in my mind and ranked as a great album. Harpoons, for some reason, brings chills down my spine every time I hear it.

Someone help me understand my fellow Albertan. I can partially understand the love for WATN from him (I'm now thinking I should say 'it') but it's still making me question what's going on in the water down in Cow-town (Calgary)?

I was watching ghostbusters last night and it dawned on me that a part of modern midnight conversation sounds a bit like the hook from the ghostbusters theme "i ain't afraird of no ghost"

hahaha Who would've thought there'd be a Ray Parker Junior connection to the Chemical Brothers?

Ray Parker Junior - currently residing in the "where is he now?" file. He sort of disappeared after that whole lawsuit going on over the Ghostbusters theme and Huey Lewis' I Need A New Drug.

'Pooter, I feel the same about We Are The Night. I had a feeling the moment I heard it all the way through, it was going to be a classic album in my book. If sounds could sum up my 2007, We Are The Night would be it in a nutshell.

SO I finally saw a 2007 list with WATN on it. It was in the Excaim! newspaper that I picked up at school. It was 9th but oh well... At least there gettinf some recognition. Hey us Canadians still love them even though the government (or Tom and Eds record company in regards to Canada) don't.

"9. Chemical Brothers We Are the Night (Virgin)

The raw energy and underground grit of early work by Dust Brothers could not be reproduced, but lucky for us can still be found incarnated in the Chemical Brothers. While Ed and Tom first made music out of warehouses, the more highly produced We Are The Night is innovative and classic as ever. “Battle Scars” effectively bridges rock and electronic and features the honest Johnny Cash vocals of Willy Mason. Fat Lip of Pharcyde raps kid-friendly about dancing like a salmon on “The Salmon Dance.” “Saturate” is progressive and beautiful like a sunrise. This album is danceable, questioning, blissful, and groundbreaking. Sarah Ferguson

Justice is number 1?.... it seems as though I am looking at this list upside down.

And no Underworld? What a joke.

i'll make this short and sweet because im kind of lame at writing long reviews ( even though its almost a year late and I majored in english)

Afetr hearing WATN, it reminded me how fucking good an album should be! i loved this album so much, that it reminded me of how excited I was when I first listened to 'EPD'!

WATN . .Excellent! 5 stars,2 thumbs up, and one salmon!

So glad you love the album, soundguide! :)

It's good this thread was revived. It gives me a moment to reflect. It's hard to believe it's been nearly 1 year already since We Are The Night came out. The build up of excitement and the drama of waiting for the album to drop, knowing that once that happened then a live show was sure to follow. My listening to We Are The Night has been rather steady over these past months with breaks to listen to other things in the interim, obviously. And then after a while I'll go back to listen again and the adrenaline rush is still there, and the album's ability to change my mood from song to song as it takes me on the journey is still there too. As a whole the album still unfolds wonderfully as it always has, and Salmon Dance still puts a smile on my face and Do It Again is my que to crank up the volume as I'm driving. I'll have the shuffle set on my ipod and a song off We Are The Night will come into the mix and transport my mood to another place. The album has been a friend on my commute to and from work, and it's weird but it always seems that when I get into my car at 4:45 on a Friday, Burst Generator comes on as the sun hangs low in front of me and the view of my office is barely visible in my rearview mirror. Such a great feeling!!

The vast landscape of the album with rugged yet sometimes polished and melodic terrain sort of sums up the year I've had so far. Seen me through good and bad.

Once again the Chems have managed to make an album that fits into my life's soundtrack. It's awesome. I can't ask for anything more. I think by now it's safe to say We Are The Night sits comfortably alongside my favorites.

soon as the June gloom gives way to nicer weather and warm summer nights, it'll be like it has all come full circle.

Wow, Whirly! Nice speech! Do you know that in some russian forums about this album lots of posts were like this: "It's just good electronic and nothing more. Their earlier things were better because of interesting experiments with sounds." I don't agree with them! This album shows us lots of experiments with sounds! After all, sometimes it's very difficult to find "just good electronic".
