Ben, that's awesome. =D

Biff, strange months are good months. Even if they don't seem like it sometimes. It's kinda what pushes us through life a little more, eh? Alright, I'm done being philosophical.

Only thing I've done that is constructive in the past month or two is a half hour mix of some songs that seem to fit well together. I might podcast it, who knows.

Wow, what a... crappy Monday!

I'm here to tell you all that a geriatric psych ward is the most miserable place I've ever set foot in. Harder knowing that someone you love has to spend the next 48-72 hours in that bleak hell hole.

Ugh.

Tomorrow will be better.

Sorry to hear that Whirly! Hope tomorrow actually is better.

Ben: Sorry to hear about the breakup but, as Stash said, nice one with the 25. I've been dating a gorgeous 18 year old for the past two months and I'm 24 now, so I'm headed the opposite direction, but either way is good! :)

I am now starting an assignment due 9 AM worth 15% of my grade in one of my courses at 2:30 AM. Boo to procrastination! I have to prepare a 20 minute presentation demonstrating use of a blood glucose meter for diabetics and create a pamphlet on it including diabetes/hypoglycemia education. Not difficult work but boring as all get out. Which is, of course, why I left it until the last minute.

Need sleep! Well, I did before this cup of instant coffee that I filled 40% full with instant mix.... and then dissolved ephedrine in it. I'm feeling a little more perky now.

I can't feel my face. I had a ridiculous toothache that was radiating into my jaw and up my facial nerve during class today. I treated it with topical benzocaine (ie. Orajel) and, well, the other topical -caine you'd expect.... I am very numb.

Biff it's been cold here too. We had 2 nice sunny days in the low 70's and it was gorgeous, now it's back to drab gray skies, high winds and an impending heat bill.

Darkstar, I hope it isn't an abcessed tooth that's causing you pain!

just kidding. I can't comment since I haven't 'lived' there.

Darkstar, thanks for the reminder that I'm getting my wisdom teeth out next monday. Frozen and chipmunk face, YAH!!! 'Exciting' reading week for me being on Tylenol-3s coming up.

It's actually been a bit warmer the last couple days. The low tonight is only -34!!! Huzzah! Shorts and tee weather is soon here! :P

Whirly, I hope not either. My gums are pretty raw right now, they've always been sensitive and cycle from good to bad pretty regularly. This is the first toothache I've ever had that I can recall. I've never had so much as a cavity before and my wisdom teeth were removed before the roots took hold. I hope I'll be fine. No probs the last few hours... but I have been chained to the computer desk and the student card as prophylaxis.

Its funny how the definition of 'cold' is different for everybody!

I think it's cold here and it's around 0 degrees!

yeah, should've made it more clear: cold in the Californian sense of the word. in other words, still 20 degrees above freezing.

Bleh, it's 3:59 in the morning here and I have to go to work in a minute. Gotta love working at a coffee shop. I do this every friday/saturday morning.

SNOW IS MELTING!! It's 8 degrees here. compared to -40 last week this rocks. Except for the part where I've gone through 2 jugs (4 gallons) of windsheild wiper fluid in 3 days.

Hat's off (if I were wearing a hat) to you hearty people of the north. Really. My blood is so thinned out here living where I do, when it dips below 60 degrees I'm crying like a freakin baby.

My claim to cold weather fame was when I did 3 month stint in Minnesota 9 and a half years ago. We spent from end of October through January 2nd there. When it got to 30 degrees it was manageable - at least I could go outside to sneak a cigarette. 20 degrees and the snow falling was nice... for about 3 days then it got old pretty fast. 10 degrees and it was too cold for me to go outside for my evening smoke, and sliding across the parking lot going to the grocery store looked alot more amusing than it actually was. Then it got to 0 and below, we would get snowed in and have to wait for the snow plows. It was unbearable for us California pussies. We didn't bother changing the wiper fluid in our Nissan before we went from California to Minnesota, and it froze solid. Very little we could do. On January 2nd of 1999 there was a break in a blizzard and we high tailed it back to California. I think somewhere across the Rockies in Colorado, my windshield wiper fluid finally thawed and I was able to wipe the sleet from my windshield. It was like, thank God. And I feel like a complete pussy for writing this.

You people are brave.

Yeah, truly the unsung heroes are those that have to worry about more than putting on a sweater, I mean a scarf is already some complicated shit. I went to New York last year and it was raining down every day on top of being freezing and on top of me having a horrendous cold the entire time, so I definitely enjoy California weather and my dependency on it will probably result in living here my whole life.

Minnesota is fucking HELL. i hate living here for pretty much any reason you could think of. there's no real significance with the state besides MOA and Prince haha.

yeah, definitely heard some horror stores about Minnesota. My best friend lived there and it was one of those things where whenever I say it's cold here in California, he goes into a rant "You want to know cold..."

I spent some time in Minnesota during the spring and summer (my brother and his family used to live there and I'd go visit when I could) and it was quite blissful - though humid - not to mention green, lush and gorgeous. And the thunderstorms were an incredible thing to see, too. I think given the long harsh winters, people there seem to appreciate the summers and enjoy them while they can. Some good memories of taking some scenic drives further outside the cities and taking the boat out on Lake Excelsior. I also liked downtown Minneapolis, the Hennepin district seemed pretty hip yet so much less harried than life out where I am.

It's just that the winters are so long, so tough - it's not just a seasonal thing, it has to be a way of life and it's hard if you're not accustomed to it.

Sweetness, found out last night I am good to graduate in spring, thought I'd have to take a summer session to fulfill requirements, but my math sucks... Even after taking my math requirements.

This will greatly boost my chances of making the late summer trip to England and the Chems show. I will have more time to pool up money at work to buy "Mind The Gap" t-shirts, haha.

So, I saw this picture of Gary Busey:

And I couldn't help but think:

Seperated at birth?

Sorry, I'm just trying to amuse myself. It's a slow evening at the whirly/stash household.
