I don't represent "Nor Cal," as it were, because I'm not really from here, but I do love living in San Francisco. :)

And I don't like the whole Northern California/Southern California lameness thing, even though I hate Southern California and end up contributing toward the subtle rivalry.

TJ--Spring is good. :) I'm enjoying the sun.

And I'm sorry to hear about all you out there who are dealing with the cold... :-(

If we could live in San Francisco, we would. It's just so flippin expensive, way out of our league (and now's not the time to be considering a job or living situation transition). I appreciate suburbs in their own way, and I like visiting the outskirs but at heart I'm a city girl, I like the ease of living somewhere that is metropolitan yet has a sense of community - which is very much the feeling I get when I visit San Francisco. Also not having to rely on a car is a big plus. San Francisco has amazing public transportation. And it's a gorgeous city. Love it.

I prefer N. California to S. California any day of the week. To be fair S. California does have its perks and I like bubble where I live, I am accustomed to a certain lifestyle. But if given a feasible opportunity (which doesn't include forgoing a meal so I can scrounge up pennies to make San Franciscan style rent) I'd pack up the family and move there in a heartbeat. And stash would too. We all love it up there.

Nah, further up, Biff. Grass Valley/Nevada City area.

Yeah, the So Cal Nor Cal thing is silly. But it ends up trickling into everything that involves the state. Might as well be two, but I like it as one.

San Fran fuckin' ROCKS, yes. Might go to college around the bay area, I dunno yet. It's got awesome atmosphere, though.

the whole nor cal thing is very like "Caucasians trying to create a gang affiliation," not that frat houses are enough.

San Francisco is the best of the best imo.

and ditto on the whirly/stash restoring faith in southern california.. actually a lot of frinds of mine and the UC are from there, so I suppose it isn't that bad.. :P

I dont know, San Francisco didn't/hasn't awe me like I thought it would. Dont get me wrong, it's a unique city, and the whole "city in the hills" thing is very neat. But I dont know, it just doesnt "click" with me. I think it's because I'm spoiled by living so close to one of the greatest cities in the world, Chicago. :P

Must admit though, the Napa Valley area is incredible. Would very much like to spend some more time there.

As for South Cali, i basically only been there for a day (not counting the coachella area), cant really comment on it other than there is a lot more bums on the street in LA at night than in Chicago.

Napa is pretty awesome. I'm about 2.5 hours away - it's a nice vacation spot. Tons of awesome restaurants and little hotels, not to mention it's just beautiful.

Here in Italy January felt like March, March felt like early May and April fells like late May. I wonder how July and August will feel like (Sahara Desert maybe? + 50°C?). Almost no rain in winter. That's not normal at all. The point is that I live in northern Italy, next to Switzerland, not somewhere in southern Italy close to Africa!
