What if it were a celebrity you really cared about though? Millions were pretty shaken up over John Lennon's being shot and killed, or when Princess Di got chased by the paps to her death. Heath Ledger may have been a celebrity and all of that, he may have had a few stinker films on his resume (what actor doesn't?), and yes there are thousands of nameless faceless unknowns that meet their makers each day without so much as a passing word on a Chemical Brothers messageboard. ) Unless we're talking about Hitler or some horrible equivalent, or unless the person was suffering tragically and horribly to the point where death is a mercy - I fail to see how death is a good thing, especially if it inspires failed attempts at being witty on a Chemical Brothers messageboard. Anyway I'm not pissed off at anyone but think we're bigger than this and iggy I don't think it was wrong or bad of you to start this thread. This place needed some action and distraction so here it is.

Speaking of action and distraction, the media is out of control with this Heath Ledger business. It's sick. I think it's terribly sad that the media leaked this to the world before his family in Australia were even out of bed that morning. They found out that their son/brother/nephew/ex was dead when they turned on the fucking news.

That's sad.

I love this quote, and it almost makes sense for me to post it:

"Theres only enough room for one Toby McGuire in Holywood, and thats Jake Gyllenhaal!"

On a more serious note: that really is the shits that his family found out about his death by watching the news. RIP Heath

Why does Whirly say everything I am thinking, except more cohesive? :)

Anyway, the dude was cool. He will be missed. The Dark Knight will be that much more awesome and I send what love I have in my love reserves to his family and such. And some extra to Rynostar. Man, we need that emergency rave now!

Vopal, hey don't worry bout me too much. Took my friend drinking and for cheap wings with other friends last night. Had a blast. Also getting random smiles out of the blue from the girl I'm working on (though trying to figure out if their courtesy or genuine). Things are starting up slowly again (though they need to really kick into high gear, for everyone).

Cause Whirly is the Mother Superior on the board here. That's why we think alike with her. She's probably thought everything about chems before we have.

I care when they've made a difference to my life e.g. John Peel, Mike Reid

I was so bummed to hear he'd died. Kinda sucks to think he won't be able to see his performance in The Dark Knight. :(

^ Hell yeah... The shop owner probably didn't even need to put out a make-shift display to pimp those movies. As they say, death sells

When I worked at Tower Records, whenever a musician died the sales would go through the roof.

I was thinking this whole Heath Ledger dying things reminds me a bit of when Brandon Lee died when The Crow was being filmed. The parrallels are a bit trippy. Pictures of both in make up for the role of The Crow and the Joker are eerily similar.
