Ok. So I?ve not really said much about the incredible night from my perspective so will try my best now.
My main downfall for the whole evening was going out chem?ed up for the two night previous to NYE which resulted in a sudden comedown at 4am or something! Next time.. I will be sleeping a week beforehand and will be in tip top condition!
Meeting up with you lot was good fun although I am rather terrible at remembering names, just faces really. Perhaps next time (there will be!) I will be less rushed and get a chance to chat to you guys and get to know you. Was good to see a familiar face (Jeanie) there as had seen her a year or so ago at Chems in Brixton.
On entering Turnmills I was excited, sober and looking forward to the night ahead and exploring this new location. Acidchildren did a good job showing me around when we got in. My first thing I noticed about the club was its attention to detail and general layout. I think the layout is the best I?ve seen yet and definitely beats other London clubs I?ve been to in the past. The club was empty at the start and I felt like a child at their party with the anticipation of the incoming guests and the balloons everywhere and everything looking all neat and tidy.
The staircase was a big feature for me as it was more of a piece of art than a staircase. The metal work and design of it was impressive ? I should have taken more shots of this. I loved all the assorted dark and atmospheric rooms all over the place with various people hidden away.
Lighting, soundsystem and main dancefloor were ace. Such an intimate feeling to everywhere I the club which is good and beats the hell out of all these huge superclubs without any character and warehouse style high ceilings.
The music? Well. Lets just say it was spot on. I?m a big fan of dark heavy beats and some good mixes and samples and it was magical. I?m not the best at recognising names of songs but I definitely knew when the Chems were on. The atmosphere was electric and although rather overcrowded, everyone could get close to the chems due to the funky design of the club.
Once midnight had passed it kicked off big. Everybody was in heaven and love was all around. By this time I had ?forgotten? about my group I was with, Acidchildren etc, and had formed my own group with some randoms I?d been chatting and dancing to.
The evening went way too fast.
I enjoyed the nitrous they had on tap along with the various chillout areas which came in very useful during harder times or simply when the chems finished and I was in a state of exhaustion from all the excitement!
Whilst walking back to the dancefloor I bumped into Justin Robertson which was nice as all my top nights out have had him there playing some beats so I knew the next few hours we were in for more treats.
JR came on and completely changed the style and things got very upbeat and funky and you could see the crowd was loving it. By this point unfortunately I had hit the comedown stage and was still dancing to JR by the DJ booth but was somewhat destroyed energy wise.
End of the night. Very sad but still buzzed from the Chems! Was good to finally make it out to some ?fresh? London air and welcome 2007 with a tired but ecstatic feeling of accomplishment from being part of such a huge event and sharing it with such lovely people.
The journey home was tough but I slept most of it and then slept 18 hours once I arrived home! Now I?m back at work but have to keep stopping myself from going off into a dream world and imagining being back there again.
So thanks to you guys for being there too and being so friendly. Was amazing to meet more of you. Brian and Mips, your nutters! Jeanie, your lovely and you are always oozing positive vibes and smiles! Your all great, just a shame I forget most of your names!
See you guys at the next event! I?m hooked..!

And yeah , i havent really partied hard from july on until NYE and i pre loaded on vitamine pills and sleep from about a month before so that i could be a 24 Hour Party Person. I highly reccomend it do all of you ;)

blimey what a mad couple of days.
I'll refer you to mips and jeanies reviews - I think they've summed it all up pretty well
great to see so many forum peeps out and apologies to those I didn't get a chance to chat to. though I think you got off lightly, I wasn't making much sense at all!
whirly I'm so sorry I didn't come to the phone when jeanie was chatting with you new years day. I was in a right pickle, you wouldn't have got any sense from me :?
the biggest thank you to tom n ed for working that room like nobody else. still a massive inspiration and real gentlemen for coming out and chatting to us all again afterwards. though I'm not sure ed got any sense from us all collapsed by the sofa!
wicked evening. can't wait for the next one.
