First chemical experience (in both senses of the word ) was a night in turnmills, from there on in the brothers have been the soundtrack to most of the best nights ive had.. a new years at turnmills, glasto 2007 and 2011 and a few others, never a dissapointment

New to the electronic music show scene this past year, though have long been a Chemical Brothers fan. From Ohio, USA but now based in Taipei, Taiwan and recently wed! Will be going to the July 26, 2011 show in Taipei and am having trouble focusing on the second round (Taiwan side) of our wedding here on the 23rd with that on the horizon - bad news? Work is out of the question!

So I guess this counts as a first post and introduction! How about this then - the user profile picture is a dog drawn around the Chinese character for "dream" 夢 which looked like a face when up on the white board one day. A classmate adapted the pig version I drew to something cuter and I colored it in and voila! Dream Dog. Here it is again for anyone interested!

I've been listening to the Chems since I was about 3 years old. All thanks to my brother playing the Leave Home single in '95, at ridiculous volumes in the room next door, with me trying to sleep. Particularly the Sabres of Paradise mix, for some reason that song was insanity to my toddler ears. As such, their music is permanently engrained into my memory, and I think will forever remain my favourite artist. I could almost say that single has guided me into my career choices, as I'm set to study Audio Production in the near future. For favourite songs, it's a hell of a job for me to pick. Leave Home and Hey Boy hold a special place in my heart. Piku, BrB, Elektrobank are also up there in the godlike ranks for me.

I've however only recently been able to see the brothers live - at Hyde Park a few weeks ago (I assume the guy sporting the Dust Brothers tour shirt is probably bouncing around this forum somewhere...strong respect). By far the most intense gig I've seen, and I'll admit my body was pretty much broken the next day. I guess that's a good sign of an amazing night though. After that experience I guess I felt a fairly well-initiated member of the Chems fanbase, so here I am!

Small group we are going with is planning on making matching t-shirts for the night. Looking forward to having audience members sign them while we're there. Taiwan is predominantly Chinese in culture - difficult often to connect deeply, be it first or umpteenth meeting (for locals as well - much less self-expression than many are used to in the "west"). That makes it especially fun to go to shows here to see a crowd so universally awed out of their own egos (local and non-locals) by a performance that so many cultural hang-ups are set back to zero and one has no choice but to start fresh, accepting we all just shared a moment. So very excited for my first Chemical Brothers moment!
