I've never actually been bothered to find out if acid jazz is a mixture of popular American music of the 20's and popular British underground music of the late 80's. I've always thought it would be a strange combination so never looked into it.

So is the answer to my possibly crazy question yes or no?

Jamiroquai is sucessfully making his own acid jazz, but it's still pop music (in the structure of songs and the fact it has vocals).

Acid jazz is much older anyway. i think a well known Acid Jazz reference is Herbie Hancock's "Future Shock", with famous tracks like Rockit, chamelon, or watermelon man. Basically it is electronic jazz.

I'm not very good at labelling, and I don't know much about acid Jazz so I might be wrong anyway.

Wait. :-? jamiroquai>> It couldn't be a relation!!!

-> There are the Acid Jazz artists but Jamiroquai no. He's a pop singer,,,, son I don't trust in him for acid jazz

8) In this point you're right, Jamiroquai for his song and vocals, is a pop music...

Yeah, rhinocerose and Saint Germain.... French artists rule... I guess it is obviously acid jazz, but acid jazz appeared much loger ago, but it just the same way today's house music is probably quite different from mid 80's house.

Rhinocerose is kind of hard to label "house music using guitars experimentation"?

I don't know much about Jamiroquai except the obvious radio hits, but you cannot deniy the whole eraly electornica/ acid jazz influence on him, but let's call it acid pop...

My definition to Acid Jazz has always been Mephisto Odyssey - Dream of the Black Dahlia.
