This threads for you chemicalfan ;-)

What a fucking amazing pair of djs! There talent and qulaity of there sets reminds me much of the chems mix cds such as BGWIO, is that a fair comparision?

Have recentally got my hands on there 'Fabric Live' cd and 'Saturday Night Lotion'. Both brilliant, sounds so upfront and fresh, which is good I feel as alot of dance these days can be dull and simple. If you havnt herd 'Saturday Night Lotion' its well worth checking out, I really love 'A plump lesson', 'Acid hustle' and the killer of all breaks tunes 'Soul Vibrates'!

Been a while now since I have seen them dj last at homelands 2004, still up to scratch? They seemed as nearly good as a chems dj set back then.

Would love to see Plump DJs while I'm in London! I know they're playing Fabric on New Years' Eve (along with Ewan Pearson), but can't find out if they've got anything else going that week.

I have it on reasonably good authority that Plump DJs will be mixing Mixmag's december covermount CD.

Be nice to see the Chems do a covermount, I think, though I understand why they don't. I just want a new DJ mix from them, I guess.

Yes Plumps are doing it, I saw an advert in the recent one. Hopefully soon the chems will release a new dj set.

IMO the plumps have always been good, but they've ascended to greatness in the last year with some storming sets at fabric, creamfields, etc. Their recent eargasm night at fabric was amazing, as was their 'electro' set in room 3 afterwards.

Other good breaks DJs I've been enjoying are Friendly and Ali B. Friendly's 'Chew the fat' mix cd is great and Ali B's recent Y4K cd is really cool too :D

When i saw meat katie a couple of weeks ago, he was playing really techy proggy breaks inc a mix of Processed beats by Kasabian! I think the plumps are a bit more funkier - kind of nearer to the stanton warriors but then I haven't seen them in a while so maybe thats where they are at too...

But anyways he's def worth checking out!

Um dunno really as these guys are new to me too. I first got into Friendly when I heard his storming single 'the bump n grind' (Fat Records) last year - a wicked bouncy funky breaks track that features on both his and Ali B's mix CDs, plus a few others. He also did a wicked 'mini-mix' for Annie Mac's Radio 1 show not so long ago. I'm not sure if he's got any albums out but there's bound to be one or two out there.

As for Ali B, to be honest i hadn't even heard of him 'til I read an interview in IDJ a couple of months ago.... shocking really since he is one of the pioneers of the scene.

yeah!! Ali B is one of the very first playing breaks.......

im not very keen on what he does.... but you can also heard him on his FabricLive CD (i do not remember which one is.....).

He is resident @ FabricLive and you can usually see him if you go down there! wicked night on friday night!!!!!

Meat Katie does fater, dirtier breaks than Plump (he played punk when he was younger.....), he is very good very late in the night to "relaunch" tired feet :P . His last Mixmag CD (August one i think.... or september....) with James zabiela is very tasty, very good tunes!!!!!! need to be listened....

For all of you who are not introduced to breaks, need to listen some just one time...... and for sure, you gonna be addict to it (remember you first Chems track..... :D )

I don't really listen to breaks at home or in the car very often, but it in a club, more often than not it's the breaks room I gravitate to (or the d'n'b room, if there is one). Awesome to dance to. I feel really gay dancing to trance unless it's harder trance, and I get bored with house very easily unless the DJ really works to keep me interested or simply plays awesome tunes.
