Yeah, I wonder how they were feeling while creating such a masterpiece ! And I'd also like to know how much time they took...

By The Way, I have to admit I don't like the way the Private Psychedelic Reel ends. The end is too violent, the last 5 seconds are a violent return to reality after an ultimate eargasm. On the opposite, Escape Velocity ends progressively and slowly so that you can enjoy until the last second.

There's no point in comparing, but if we have to, I'd have to take Joslyn and Wincent's side - I like Escape Velocity, but it's not up there with a Reel, or any other mentioned epics. It's a nice psychedelic tune - I'm hoping the cd quality and when it fits in with the whole experience that Further aims to be there, I'll have to eat my words.

don't you all wish you could write/make music like the chems?

Does anyone on this forum write/produce their own music? I'd love to hear.

Oh, and I forgot to say something : you remember the update of the site 2 months ago ? There was a loop of Escape Velocity. This loop came from the beginning of the track but hadn't the vocal on it. So I assume we don't have the full intro of EV.

Wincent said it. Escape Velocity (for me) is a dance track. A very, very good one, with heart and soul and very melodic but it isn't like the Private psychedelic reel ir the Sunshine Underground or the Test (to name a few). I understand it as a great ending for a dj gig, to leave on a high, but for me TPPR or TSU are track which are like a story, the leave me thinking about stuff, life, whatever. I get an emotinal rush from Surface to Air and Burst Generator. I don't get that feeling with Escape velocity. That track like "wow", fist in the air, dance your (last bit of) dance off at a dj set or live gig. But I am very curious what kind of feeling this track will give me when I see it with the visuals cause I think that Further will be very special because of that concept.

edit: this post is a respons to Whirly's curiousity and Wincents reply. DAN why can't I make the multiquote work

whooping build + huge beepy melodies = TINGLES.

nice one boyz!

edit: just realised that the vocal at the start was the one they played at farbric - im sure at fabric though they had a long section with the vox accapella....

As I explained in my full post about last night, all I can say is people were doing fucking somersaults in my room when I played this. It was like we were all children dancing away into the night...

Ehm...not sure...but you guys make it seem like MX leaked this tune all over the web...(Jittem)
But it was a mistake of Parlophone, hence why they took it offline.
So just to make it clear: MX is not the one to 'blame' if this tune is leaked!

Oke rant over :P

my apologies. That wasn't my intention at all. I Doubt it will get leaked until the 12" gets released though.

By the way, is it really a single ? It can't be a single, it's too long ! I mean I don't want it to be edited to fill a single version. I hate Pete Tong for having cut EV before the end and I don't want it to be shortened to 6 minutes or so :(

I think it was alright Pete played it as a world world world exclusive this way.. He can't be expected to play a full length 12 minutes monster... at least we got about the half of it. It's fair enough in my opinion (although I said as well shortening that tune is a sacrileg :) ).

But hey, there is still some of this tune to be explored when it will be released and I like that idea. It's like you've opened a present's fancy paper and you guess what you might get but have to wait for the full package until after dinner... And it is a French kind of dinner, which takes about 2 months :)

just given it my first listen and am very impressed with what i'm hearing. Wish i had had the money to get a ticket to see them at the roundhouse, oh well, the album will definately make up for it. Hope i can afford to get the vinyl promo in a few weeks.

Cool - thanks for the replies, guys. :) I'm so enamored with this track, as are a lot of other folks - so it's easy for me to lose perspective on other peoples' points of view. So I appreciate you taking the time to post back.

And yeah, multiquote isn't enabled so it's not just you, Joslyn!

Your love keeps lifting me...

Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field
