I'm afraid the term 'da bomb' is not acceptable.

British dance music also isn't limited to The Chemical Brothers.

yes it is

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

You reckon, i spose alot of good stuff has come from france, but the wave of Ed Banger type stuff doesnt really impress me much at the mo.

As far as dance music is concerned, the United States is the retarded stepchild trying to perform in his bit part in the multi-purpose room of the school's production of Oklahoma.

...then in the late 80's and early 90's, electronic music was starting to break at least where I was - then it was quickly put on the backburner when every radio station started playing Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Fast forward to 1997 and electronic music seemed to permeate every aspect of pop culture as it weaved its way into everything mainstream from soundtracks to commercials to background fodder on am radio traffic reports... til something else came along and grabbed the interest of the masses.

It's just how things are here, I guess. It seems these things like shifts in musical interests come in cycles, but nothing truly dies. It just goes a little quiet for a while.

Though at Nocturnal Wonderland last September, it was hard to believe it wasn't 1997 all over again.

Haha, the funny thing is that I live in Oklahoma! And even funnier, I agree!

Sadly, I think that the Crystal Method is probably the best thing to come from the states, which isn't saying much.

Back around "Now 6" was when electronic music was most popular because it actually had The Rockefeller Skank on it. I believe we're up to "Now 23" in the states, so it was awhile ago.

You know what was amazing? MTV's AMP compliation. You know what else was amazing? The Hackers soundtrack. What the hell, 1995? Why were you so awesome?

Yeah, The Crystal Method's sound needed to go in a completely different direction than where they ended up. Although, it's not horribly far off from where they started. Maybe that was the problem... The same sound just got worse.

What has the CM been up to?

I must say that their London soundtrack was a step in the right direction. Are they working on a new album or are they taking a break or something?

Crystal Method are boring. You're right Whirly, music genre's never die. 2008 is going to the bring the return of Speed Garage/Bassline/Dubstep to the mainstream! Can't wait :D

Vegas by TCM is about the only worthwhile album of theirs to check out.

But it definitely is worth checking out.

Plus theres that Vegas deluxe 2-CD thing that came out.

I still have fond memories of TCM because I bought Legion of Boom and DYOH, my first Chemical experience, at the same time.

Obviously I loved DYOH so much more, but it was a great time for me musically.

The Crystal Method are all right, Vegas was good (realy good at the time) but to me sounds dated now. Not a bad thing, if I want to take a trip down memory lane. But as for staying power...
