99.9% of comercial mix cd has some studio engineering. i have only a couple of mixes where you can hear the mixing is live.

there is nothing wrong with the chems having studio engineering on a mix, everyone does it, its the norm!!!

i honestly do not know what the process is. being someone who makes plenty of his own cd's i would love to find out more. i know people go on about mixes being recorded through 'Pro Tools'. i guess this software just gives you total control of the beatmatching and eqing that would gives you greater control and more polish than doing something live. if anyone knows more please let me know

i use sound fourge 7 to record my mixes. it so powerful at editing!! some of my mixes i'll record live, but if i'm doing something special like my chems mix cds it will take me a couple of days to do a mix. i'll spend a lot of time working out how to mix each tune and then record it till i have a perfect take. i don't even record in sequence of the finished mix. my last chems cd i knew what i wanted in the middle of the mix and then built the mix around that either side. once i recorded everything i'll stich the whole thing together and hope it all works as a complete piece. i can be very laborious, its a labout of love!!

get yourself ableton live 4 antype you will love it as i have told you before!! best way to mix on a computer.

anyway i reckon a respect your brothers vol 3 might be on the cards in april/may time!!

So with something such as 'traktor dj studio' and 'fourge 7' can you pick records from your media folders then get the computer to mix them and put affects over them?
