We have a lot of talk about this record already but with all the auctions on ebay and all the other fuz on other websites I hope we can get a better view of which record out there is a good one. We pay heavy money for this record and if other ones will want too in the near future maybe we loonies who already bought one ( yeah I am one of you as well ;-) ) can help them out a bit and at the same time get to know more about this record ourselves.

I have recieved my copy today. It's the see-through yellow on light-weight vinyl. This copy I got is badly pressed. It has sharp edges, the label in the middle is badly glued to it and it has some black letters you can see through it. It's of a record by DJ Deekline or something. It has 2 white labels, 1 on each side ofcourse and comes in a black sleeve. Also the yellow paint is has not attached very well. You can see some bleached spots

The sound is not good aswell. It has a lot of filth noise in it. It sounds like a bad cassette copy. Also the track is a bit different then the one from the Pete Tong show we all have heard thanks to AnType. It's slower and it longer. Or Pete Tong has used a cut and sampled track.

The original is a deep yellow record, not translucend, on heavy vinyl. As far as I know it has 1 white label on it and it comes in a white sleeve. I don't know how it sounds. Maybe someone who has it can help out with that.

This is the one you can pay heavy money for IF it comes with the original press release with it. It's also the one you can find on the Chemical Bits website ( http://www.chemicalbits.cjb.net/ ) and on most of the picture for ebay auctions. BUT BEWARE not all that auction have that record, as I found out the hard way.

There is also a black release available. This is deffinetly a bootleg. It don't know much about that one but I won't spend too much money on that one.

If anybody else has any more information about the yellow slow record, please add it to this topic. I would like to know more about my record and maybe where to buy a good one for sure and help all the other Die-hard Chems (and Kylie) fans not to save up a lot of money to buy a piece of crap.

Thank you very much

:x Joslyn, that stinks! I'm so sorry you got such a lousy pressing - it's so unfair! Although I don't intend on spending money on this particular record, I gotta say it's real cool of you to warn those who are thinking of picking up the vinyl Slow.

There's a good chance that the seller isn't aware that the copy he sold to you isn't legit. But I would report him/her to e-bay anyway. It's not good for this person is making money off selling people shitty items.

anType - you may want to have Joslyn's e-bay alert on your Bits site too!

I just recieved an e-mail from the ebay seller. He/she is not aware of the fact that it's a bootleg. It seems that the yellow see-through records are mainly from Germany. I think that the first 200 copies are indeed the heavy yellow ones and the other promo's are the translucend yellow's.

I will not name and shame the ebay seller if he/she is not aware of the fact what's the bootleg and what's not. I will ask him/her if she will ad it to the ebay-information section. If this happens more often I will.

Thanks alot for your replies. Keep it coming!!!!

AnType, if you got the original, does the track develope differently then the one on the Pete Tong show? For example, the slower part of the track takes place earlier in the Pete Tong version the with my record.

Josyln, that's cool that the seller actually replied back to you. At least now this person is a little bit more educated on what's legit and what's not.

As for e-bay, the very few times I've used it (once, my husband bought me a surfing monkey coin bank - long story, hehe) and the other time when I sold a chair - we've had good luck. But we're not going to press it. Matter of fact, I don't have access to my pay-pal account anymore which makes transactions a pain in the ass.

Just remember folks, caveat emptor. And sometimes the seller isn't exactly aware either, as in Joslyn's case.

Yeah, it's still going to be on the Queer Eye soundtrack! :)

But the Slow remix will be on Kylie's "Red Blooded Woman" single too - in case there's people out there who don't want the soundtrack or want to shell out $$ for promos...

Don't assume anything about me, don't undermine my ability to see how frustrating this situation is. I am pissed off that there are pirated vinyls of this remix going around too you know. Just because I don't collect every piece of wax out there, nor am I a dj, nor do I always prefer vinyl to cd, nor do I have the money to spend on repeat copies of certain songs in my collection doesn't mean I don't think that pirated copies of this particular song is something to laugh about or take lightly. Nothing is funny when it's done at the expense of people's integrity/collections/livelihood/money.

Nerdcore asked a question regarding the availability of the remix of Slow, I answered it. I am very aware there are collectors, vinyl fans and dj's out there who want this remix on wax.
