what a great night last night was, i hope this thread will give people the opportunity to express their views on the gig last night. i shall start the thread by telling the day in the life of... up to the gig.

after being promised a lift on the monday it would have been wise to of gone to college on the tuesday to properly arrange lift times. unfortunately according to bbc midlands news burton college was on strike. luckily i had told 'em to meet me at the m42 junction 10 services for 18:15. it was 18:30 they came just as i was about to find another way there. with my amazing map readiong skills we managed to get to the civic for roughly 19:30.

we got to the front pretty easily and waited for the band to come on. alrerady i was felling tired and weak. i haven't been eating or drinking properly the past few weeks so was feeling quite weak. the chems came on and i felt more elated. when Galvanize came on me and my friend had a dance off, very similar to the krumping on the video. after this i was well and trully fucked and had to just bounce about. after about half an hour i had to get some water. this wasn't enough and i found great joy in running cold water on my head as i could feel my head alone geating incredible hot. i jumped back in when EBW6 came on. i managed to last untill the oncore then had to run cold water on my head again. i could only sway during the encore untill TPPR came on, then i went all out right at the front untill the end of the song.

i really enjoyed the gig and so did the three people i went with who were going to their first chemical gig. if any body is wondering what i look like i'm 6'5" with short hair, wore a dark grey lemon jelly t-shirt with white and black fists on the bottom. my friends; one wore a black prodigy hot ride t shirt and the girl has long black and purple/pink dread locks and are both quite small.

set wise they played (in no particular order):

GALVANIZE

BELIEVE (after EBW6)

HOLD TIGHT WOLVE (LONDON)

COME INSIDE

THE BIG JUMP

CLOSE YOUR EYES (i think, not to sure, was absolutely fucked at this point)

SHAKE BREAK BOUNCE (again not to sure)

BELIEVE (which was fucking awesome)

from push the button

they played

EBW7(ACID CHILDREN) TO THE GOLDEN PATH to ELECTROBANK

STAR GUITAR

BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS

HEY BOY HEY GIRL TO BET YOURSELF HIGH then to galvanize i think

THE PRIVATE PHYSCHEDELIC REEL

UNDER THE INFLUENCE

OUT OF CONTROL (maybe)

this is about it for the meen time, sorry for any mistakes. please put your views on here too.

Sorry to use french, but that was fucking excellent!! Came all the way from Somerset to see them and I didn't regret the 160 odd miles me and my 3 friends came.

I organised the trip being the bigger of the chemical bro fan out of the 3, and my time estimates for arrival were a bit off ( that would b the biggest understatment in the world) im sure i said, leave early so if anything happens to my friends highly reliable Clio we will have time to sort it.

Nothing drastic happened to the car, and we arrive in the chilly city of Wolves with 3 and a half hours to kill, my friends were not happy with this, but hey.

Anyway, enough of that, 7 soon came round and we got to the civic, as a music producer Im always interested in the equipment, and it always overwhelms me to see the full arsenal of battle weapons on stage b4 hand, i wanted to jump up and just have a snek peak at the mixer etc...but thought otherwise, leave it to the pros :-)

The Warm Up Band: Can anyone tell me what the hell happened to The Secret Machines?? I bought the album and i really enjoy it, its very good and I was really glad we didn't have to put up with a DJ for 2 or more hours like bk in June at wolves!

So on they came, first track and I could tell the crowd were not into it, well that was my feeling i was loving it...the track ended and not a great appreciation from the crowd, but i thought a few songs in and they will pick a bit. So on to song 2, about a 45secs into it they stopped playing and left the stage never to return...one for Hetty Wainthrop i think.

Anyway The reason we all came...The Chemical Brothers and The Push The Button Tour....Junior parkers slow bass drip oozed over the already sweaty crowd, we were right in the middle!! Finally they came on stage it was as if Elvis had awoken!

Slowly but surely Hey Boy, Hey Girl came on, wow!!!!!! i wont go into the tracklisting as someone else has seaved me the trouble3 :-)

The Big jump came after BRB and Music R and was fucking awsome!! Tom kept switching between the peak bit of the track and the outro wich sounded wicked!

Come inside, also amazing, when those drums droped the whole place shook! By this point i had lost two friends and remianed only one who at this oint had looked a lot more healthy in the past :-)

Other highlights included surface to air, and the visuals were beautiful!

Anyone else just gobsmacked by the laser show, those green ones during out of control!

Amazingly there was no setting sun, but I only realised this now, while im writing this! The way the brothers played was water tight, i love the way Tom and Ed's enthusiasm just seems to grow and grow.

I really hope they dont call it a day after this album, i mean the crowds they drw just wouldn't justify them to do so, but i know one day this sad day may come....But lets not get down beat, i want to talk about the encore!! Hold Tight Wolverhampton!! Amzing live, sounded haevier but just as soulful, at this point i was by one of the arch ways near the bar, i just couldn't hack it anymore on the floor! Sorry i tried :-)

Then TPPR, need i tell anyone that this is killer!! And so that concludes my slightly jaded review of one of the best nights of my life, thanks for reading, hope i didn't lose anyone in my ramblings!?

Love is all

Vman

glad you enjoyed it v man. i be making the same sort of distance trip to brixton from tamworth in may. i was a bit disapointed that setting sun didn't come after acid children but hey the golden path, that was a new take on things. i agree the lasers were awesome. i was expecting them during get yourself high and i did but then to get them in a large circular clowdy form, and the cloudy triangle was just something else.

The Gig was easily the best of my life! We got in the venue at about bang on 7 oclock. The Dj was playing some really nice chilled but electronic tunes thats was kool. Had a feew pints then the secret machines came on. I know what u mean Vman, the crowd didnt seem taht into it, but i was enjoying listening to them, i thought that maybe they got pissed off that they didnt get much of a round of applause, but what did they expect? its not their gig as such, and i hadnt heard of them before. Or i thought that something was wrong with their equipment. Anywho, the DJ came back on and i was loving it especially when he played The Idiots - The Rush and Roman Flugel - Gehts Nocht

Anyway i was nicely warmed up and then the 2 brothers chemical arrived and dropped Hey Boy Hey Girl, didnt know i could jump that high!amazing! they did some reallly nice segways into get yourself high, galvanise, and block rocking beats! I felt fucked after all that!!! But lo and behiold they still kept me bouncing! Then i think Out of control got rinsed, with the cloudy green laser pyramid, what an awesome feeling! Temptation/Star guitar was out of this world and i got a bit emotional, since its my favourite song ever! The visuals for Come Inside were very amusing, and the Believe ones were very trippy also!By this point i felt so fucked, i think it was a number of factors, the bass, the lights, the visuals, the heat, the lack of water, that made me feel like i was on drugs, even though i'd only had a 4 pints!

I loved how they were both really giving it some cos that spurred me on and encouraged me to keep on going...

The lactic acid was building up in my arms as i was struggling to hold them up! EBW7 came on and i got a 2nd wave of energy to rave with!that clown is trippy as fuck! When they played surface to air and then wacked in some phat bass at the point in the song where it breaks down was a touch of genius and kept me going a bit longer. I felt completely battered, but TPPR came on and i knew that i should give it absolutely everything i had, its the Chems ffs!after about a 10 min rendition of it the brothers came and gave us a bow and applauded our energy and their display of genius!Simply the best night ever. I loved it!

the hairs on the back of my neck stud up when EBW6 came on, a great song but maybe also it was because i knew ACID CHILDREN would follow (even though it didn't, BELIEVE was to follow). that's a thought what did ACID CHILDREN stem from?

they didn't play as many push the button tracks but when they did everyone stood still for a moment cause it would have been the first time these tracks would have been heard. it was also my first gig and i didn't feel fucked so for me i prefered the one back in june
