If that's really you, Milla, then I know someone who's been in love with you ever since he laid eyes on the movie Fifth Element... :P

That's great news about your nephew!

I watched 2001 a couple years ago in the middle of the afternoon, completely sober. I'm not sure whether I was more bored than I'd ever been before or if I was so engrossed into what was clearly a life-altering two-hour segment of my existence.

Even lousy macrobrew like Heineken is very satisfying after a very exhausting return to indoor soccer. Think a couple beers and an early bedtime are in order tonight.

Aww, I thought we agreed it looks like Blade Runner on ecstasy.

Though the storyline is more on par with Episodes 1 and 2.

A most entertaining no-brainer popcorn flick, good eye candy and good sound.

Went to Oktoberfest last night with a couple of guys from Pharmacy. Skipped school today, woke up at 3:30 PM, and I am still quite drunk. Ugh..... Lots of fun, but I've got to go to work in 45 minutes....

No, I was too drunk to make it over to the bratwurst tent. Wish I had though.

Definetly having one of those "I'm not drinking for a long time" moments right now..... We all know it won't last.

Shockingly and disturbingly, there aren't actually any good beers at Oktoberfest here. We had a choice of Budweiser, Labatt Lite, and Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale. I opted for Budweiser. :-// 8O

But I definetly agree with you about the Hoegaarden. Great beer considering it's a macrobrew.

Went and saw Corpse Bride today.

It was very cute, and the stop-motion animation was clever and fantastic - in the same vein as Nightmare Before Christmas. Just the facial features alone were really funny because the expressions say it all. The evil characters looked cool and menacing, the less menacing the character, the more docile and graceful their features. And in Tim Burton-esque style, there were some dancing skeletons. Everyone loves dancing skeletons, dammit. Everyone!!

Like Nightmare Before Christmas, there were some musical numbers in the Corpse Bride and as per usual with anything Danny Elfman does, they were well composed with the whimsical and somewhat spooky melodies helping to flesh out both the characters and storyline.

We'll have to see how this plays out. In my opinion, this was a good movie but when compared to Nightmare Beofre Christmas, it's in the same league but not quite as top notch in:

musical numbers - (songs were good, they might not compare with the brilliant music from Nightmare)

animation - (a good portion of the film might look washed out to people who don't "get it')

and story - (I think Corpse Bride is an adaptation of a Jewish folk tale, and it can be a bit, then again my son can be weird).

Anyway. It's a good flick that's sweet, a bit spooky, and an entertaining short ride since it's about 75 minutes long. Came out just in time to get in the mood for Halloween.

And that concludes my review.
