The Magnetic Fields - Take Ecstasy With Me
Fuck me with a spoon. This song is simply pure heart-aching beauty. Indie pop at its absolute best. I'm definetly going to look for some Magnetic Fields around town, because this is an absolutely spectacular little gem of a song. Shocked me with how simple and beautiful it is.
"You used to slide down the carpeted stairs
or down the bannister
You stuttered like a kaleidoscope
'cause you knew too many words
You used to make ginger bread houses
we used to have taffy pulls
Take ecstasy with me, baby
Take ecstasy with me
You had a black snowmobile
We drove out under the northern lights
A vodka bottle gave you those raccoon eyes
We got beat up just for holding hands
Take ecstasy with me, baby
Take ecstasy with me"

!!! - Take Ecstasy With Me
A funkalicious cover of the aforementioned song, in many ways it's superior. It's got a great bass groove and is danceable in a low-tempo shake-your-booty sort of way. Nic Offer changes the lyrics up a fair bit but does Stephen Merritt's baritone justice and while the song loses the intimate heart-breaking beauty of the original, it's still stellar. Cool synth in the last couple minutes.

I literally cannot remember one single moment or tune of his entire set. I remember I asked the next day if we stuck around long enough to see some of his set. X-D

Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph
classic.
"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypotheses can't define how I be droppin these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect you, through the future see millenium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths"
