Sorry if this is old, but was playing some GTA! And heard "I sing the funk electric"

And was like... "Do it again?"

Any body else have prior knowledge of this being a sample.

I noticed that, too! Although, I'm always a little sad when I locate a Chems sample. It's just one more thing they didn't make themselves (like the guitar on Surface to Air? That one hurt.)

I don't think it's even a sample... but I think they changed it on the album because they couldn't clear it

I wouldnt say they sampled, its more of ali love just "borowing".

They didnt change it on the album, the single was "lets turn this thing electric" but the album stayed the same.

Good find dirtchamber !

I also found songs sampled by "Beats International" and "A Tribe Called Quest" in GTA IV.

Edit : Tom and Ed also sampled a little part of the rythm.

Edit 2 : I don't agree with you Gillenium, when I hear a sample (if he's not to easy) I enjoy more the track because I think it's more difficult to create something new with a rare voice or instrument than with a singer who can sing all you want how you want...

Yeah, Gillenium, do you refer to that Strokes thing?

That comparison was a bad hoax.

It definitely sounded simular to the strokes because I was big into the album "Is This It?" by the Strokes and when I heard Surface to Air for the first time (epic) at Glasto '04 I thought they'd sampled The Strokes. According to the findings on this board it was a total coincidence.
