For everyone information's, Phillipe Zdar from cassius, along with dimitri from paris and Nicolas and Jean benoit from Air have recently been promoted (dunno if this is the right word) "chevalier des arts et des lettres" by our minister of culture (who is a sad right wing aristocrat).

it is some kind of decoration, a medal you recieve when you managed something really important in art.

I think it is a good thing in itself, but the minister still managed to pull out some kinf of political recuperation, saying stuff like "we support these artists" and "I have always believed in them", when the french right wing has never done anything for electronic music, and the minister seems so caricatural in is formal aristocracy that I bet the most recent thing he listens to is Debussy.

anyway, I do not know about a new album. it seems there hve been a reedition of Motorbass's work, but i do not know if Zdar has made some new material for it.

But last year, Phillipe Zdar co produced M's last album. M is a very famous pop songwriter in france, and a great guitarist on the top of that. He did all the guitar on "Au Reve", Cassius last LP.

so as Zdar was busy with the production and seems involved in other projects as well, i do not think htere is anything to be expected from cassius for at least a couple of years : if they are working on something, they probaably just started, and last time they took 4 years to make an album, so...

(Goddamn French Artists. cannot they focus on one project and issue a steady album every two years? ;-))

but you never know.
