you got some really quality pics in there binarystatic!

I took the EL too, but I had no problems locating where to get off or which stop was which. But I agree it did take a long time from Jackson stop (inside the loop at downtown) to the Lawerence stop.

"Taken with the iphone... not bad at all! So can the iphone cook and clean as well? ;)"

Well I don't know... that's probably one of the hacks. :)

I'm glad everybody is enjoying the pics. I'm still getting off at everybody's pics and clips. Probably driving my co-workers crazy to tell the truth.

Does anybody know where a torrent might be floating around? Appreciate the help!

Well, sorry everyone for not making it to starbucks. I showed up a little late to the venue. (crazy fucking cabbie) and jumped into line when I seen it was going around the block. Best fucking show ever. I took some crappy pics, and the videos I took are crap compared to some of the others I've seen on here. Seriously though, this show was better than Underworld in 2002 and Beastie Boys in 2004 and NIN in 1999, and those were my 3 previous favorites. I plan to write a full review soon. That place was fucking hot as hell. Me and the wife took a little 'medicine' I had been saving in the freezer, and it only made us sweat even more. I was completely off my rocker near the end of the show, and seriously wondered if I'd make it out of the venue alive. But in a good way, haha. ;)

http://i20.photobuck...heatreCh-19.jpg

i thought "hmm, those sideburns look familiar..."

for the record, the show was amazing...aside from it being four hundred degrees and the me and my friend's spot on the rail being sniped by these rude overweight couple. definitely worth the drive from grand rapids!

a small review of the chicago show:

http://www.luminomag...ent/view/2211/4

"and were strongly influenced by the likes of Paul Oakenfold"

did I miss something, or is this true?

3.5 out of 4 stars... marked down for the heat of the building and the loudness of the music.

I know it was loud, but really, isn't that what most of us are going for? The old saying "If its too loud, you're too old" comes to mind.

Mostly a decent review though... her comments on the visuals I don't really agree with either.

...

to be honest, she really only got the names of the songs right. i didn't really like the review at all.

"Strongly influenced by Oakenfold"... That sounds like the review was done by A: someone with no knowledge of the electronic genre, B: someone who's last show was an Oakenfold concert, and in this case its C: both! :)

While it could be possible that there is some influence, its art, there is borrowing between artists- however, as we all know Oakie and the Brothas have unique sounds, beats, samples, techniques, etc of their own.

I haven't read the review yet, but... and I know this sounds silly jumping to conclusions... but I kind of take offense to the whole "Chems are stronly inspired by Oakenfold" comment.

Oh well. We all know otherwise.

Oakenfold's a piece of crap. You heard it hear first... oh, this just in to the news desk, too - The Chemical Brothers are awesome. More information as events unfold.

First of all sorry Chicago peeps for not being able to meet up with yall!

I got at the Riviera just in time! I think ladytron had just finished playing and some regae beats were playing when I got there. I blame the traffic and the fact that it was my first time in Chicago so I had some trouble finding directions...

But what an amazing amazing show. My ears were ringing for 4 days and I was on a chemical high all week! I felt so alive after the show (I think i might have spotted nerdy and Bosco after the gig but i was not sure and I had to get back to my car which was parked like blocks away as I had to leave for Detroit in 3 hours! I came, I saw, I was owned! I tried looking for some people before the encore but it was too hard and too packed! Sorry once again but belive me I was there in spirit.

Chemical Beats sounded SO SO good! hmmmmmmmm

I was going wild, ape. Track after track I felt like I was getting raped and it felt soo good. Everyone was kindda just standing there but when I started dancing and doing my moves this whole group of people joined me and this cute cute girl came up to me started bumping and grinding with me. So majority of my time was spent checking out her visuals ....if you know what i mean ;-)

But tracks like Do it again, ARR into Out of control and Sunshine Underground really owenth me!

This definately beats anything i have ever done in my entire life. Next time I'm taking a lot of days off to meet you guys! The whole tour went really well for the bros and I am glad that people on this forum got to meet each other.

I'm getting really busy with Uni and work so I don't have enough time to come here. I hope every one is doing ok! Oh and I saw the picture with TOM, STASH,ED and WHIRLY hugging and I must say it's wicked!

Bosco...again a written apology for not meeting up with you,I was really looking forward to it and it just didn't work out. :-(

thanks Whirls!

And it was a shame we weren't able to meetup chemical.

/but it is good to hear that you made it okay and that you were able to see the entirety of the show.

but I must say... you scared the crap out of Bosco.

maybe next time!

Perhaps its time for a Midwest-based electronic crew who's sole purpose in life is to hook up and attend and support great acts together. (or the MIDELECSPILHOOKSUPGA for short). Here's something to consider, in a place like the Riv (that only holds 2,500 maybe) I knew about 10 people there that regularly travel to see great acts. Not to mention a few people from Detroit, Colorado, and all over the place... It isn't like one city showed up, but more like a good cluster of friends, and I regualarly see these same faces at other venues anyway...

It can be done, should be done.
