Now you can stop those snide comments about Americans' plebian and uncouth diets right now, lest I start accusing Europeans of eating live babies drizzled with fresh aioli...

Mmmmmmm........ Duvel....... I was going to lower myself to having a Bud Light from the fridge, but thankfully my parents removed the offending beer from the house and took it with them when they went out tonight.
Life is far too short to spend it drinking crap beer when there are beers as glorious as Duvel.

Agreed. But Duvel was at the beer store. And I was at home. Problem. So, I went to take a nap instead. Can't wait for the Belgian pavillion again at Folkorama this year... need my Delirium Tremens.

Well, Duvel and Delirium Tremens aside, I'd assume you have easy access to Unibroue up there. La Fin Du Monde and Maudite are world class, IMO. Too bad Sleeman's bought 'em, though...

Yeah, Chambly is another great Unibroue product. Sleeman's, I have to say, is the only major Canadian brewer that I tolerate. Big Rock is good, too, I guess, but slightly behind Sleeman's. Sleeman's Silver Creek, Cream Ale, and Steam are all decent domestic choices, IMO. I need some new selection here though, b/c I've tried over 3/4 of what's easily available here and the rest doesn't seem too interesting, for the most part. Only another 2-3 beers that I have a desire to try from the beer store.
Our local brewer, Fort Garry, has a really nice dark ale and my friends like the pale ale, but I'm still not convinced.
Damn, I could really go for a beer now....
