I need to ask the band a question. What is the name of the person who took the black and white silhouette on the cover of Dig Your Own Hole? Also is the person on the cover male or female???

Well after reading your replies (thanks) i'm left with more questions. My guess is that the term 'skip' is a uk-term, but anyone please care to elaborate what that means (sorry i'm a united state-ian). Also from what prochem is saying, is there any way for me to verify this? Also if Evermin is correct i wouldn't mind reading that article as well. Apologies for trudging up mud, but i have a freind that is telling me that it is their sillhouette on the cover and they only have thin circumstantial proof to back it up... But i really want to shove proof in their face.

Well, I just spent way too much time trying to dig up old threads and my searching skills have gotten weak. Anyway, here's a thread that has a transcript of a Raft web chat Q & A where they joke that the person on the cover is Paul Oakenfold when he was young:

Oakie on the cover is not true (why would the mighty Chems put that cheesy knob on their cover??) - I've heard the skip graffiti thing before and I *know* it's been discussed. I just can't find it. Maybe I'll give it another shot - I want to help you prove your friend wrong supadupanerd! ;)

It's not much, and it's not always the most reliable source, but wikipedia has a blurb about the artwork too:
