I think this number of topics is good in the sense that it really indicates change for the chems, which not everyone will comprehend, but come on, you opinion probably won't get to far with Tom and Ed and what they plan to do in music, and will only fall short to annoy/alienate your fellow forum members.

As much as I hate coming here and seeing negativity - negative threads containing less-than-positive discourse and complaining might be viewed as inconsiderate or whatever, but those topics don't necessarily warrant moderating... Unless there's like, 2 or more threads for example "why did the Chems suck so much at Roundhouse" or. I just think people should be free to express themselves, and we should be free to ignore the negativity or counter their points if we find their opinions... less than savory or logical.
Anyway...

Although this thread is negative, it is negative about negative posts, so I'll make it the exception.
Can't we all just talk about how insanely bad ass Further+"Don't Think" is?

(ps yes I am aware of the irony of a thread about complaining/negativity being both.)

Perhaps the fans that respect The Chemical Brothers as artists and bought the album should talk about what they like or don't here. In the same regard, perhaps all the non-fans and non-payers and people with nothing constructive to say could start moving their conversations to Facebook.

I think more this forum is full of hardcore fans (by the wrong way) who need to replace things in their context and must learn to accept others points of view.
It make me feel like the stupid war between x-box and PS3 players, or the old Oasis and Blur fans...

Seriously, how would the conversation suffer? If we took maboul and igor out back and put a couple bullets in their skulls, what would we miss? 'yay, I stoles it' and 'i haven't seen it yet but it sucks' threads. Big loss

People like a good old bit of rivalry, whether its football teams or pop groups. You name it people will argue over it, internet forums just provide a good place were people can discuss and argue over any given topic. And because its faceless people can really put the boot in sometimes.
Personally I find some fan sycophancy just as irritating to read as fans who blindly slag things off. Neither has the answer. To be honest there isn't that much negativity here compared to some other artists forums I frequent from time to time. The Chems have an increasingly large body of work which is of very high quality. Its when you get artists or bands that have bodies of work that are erratic in quality that the sparks really fly. I would imagine Oasis fans have a lot to argue over.

For me Maboul & Igor bring up the forum, bringing news opinions, even if I don't always agree with them they have their place on the forum just because they LOVE a band named chemical brothers and are open-minded.
I stop to post about this subject now, have your own opinion, I will keep mine out of this forum next time.

This has nothing to do with acceptance of others' opinions. Or freedom of speech. Just as you feel it is your right to start a thread that has opposing views and opinions, you have to accept that it is anyone's equal right to counter those views and call you out. It just so happens there is now a thread that's calling out the negativity that's been on display in this forum as of late. You can't put an opinion out there - no matter how strong and unpopular it is - and not expect backlash or someone to counter those views. That's the nature of discourse and discussion and argument in a public forum. Not everyone is going to agree, or even accept opposing views. We are a collection of fans but there should be no collective judgment of who is and is not a fan.
Can we at least all try to be civil to one another please?

This idea, that was the good one. We should create a thread where everyone can express his/her disappointments about the chems. I saw threads like that in other fan forums and I can tell you it's not a bad thing at all. Everyone has a reason to complain about a band they're fan of, whether this reason is small or not. Spare the rod and spoil the child, don't forget.
I, as a fan, consider that I shouldn't be prevented from expressing my opinion just because it's negative. By the way, my opinion isn't always negative : I criticized the îTunes pass thing a lot (cause, really, it's a bad thing) but at the end I praised Further like it deserves it (cause this album is just great).
So I think we should create a thread where everyone could evacuate the negative feelings in oneself.

There isn't collective judgement of who is or is not a fan, I am the person who makes that judgement. You steal their music, you slag them off, you're not a fan, you're a troll, and should be shaved, sterilized and destroyed post-haste.
IM(theonlyonethatcounts)O, of course.
