Yeah when i nfirst saw them live i didnt know what it was, until the next day my teacher who was there whos a massive new order fan said it was great how they played part of new order. Ive never listened to all of temptation, its the chems live version better than orginal, i guessing they are just useing a small sample. I read once in musik mag that the chems brought alot of there live set up off new order in the olden days.

Ah, things clear up.
Thx!
We never get any of those EPs in my third world country.. but I distinctly remember Tom answering a question that went like .. "Which one tune do you think you would never remix?".. with "Temptation.. the original is too beautiful to be ever touched". I'm just rephrasing of course.

New Order's version is simply classic and stirs something in me everytime I listen to it. That being said, the way the Chems use it to lead into Star Guitar is awesome.
Haven't heard Moby's version of Temptation yet, but I really like his version of Joy Division's New Dawn Fades, with New Order as his backing band. Top stuff.

The chems temptation cover is also on the singles dvd 'cos star guitar is one of the clips. It's a very good song but I've only heard a song clip. Moby's version is slower and has 'breathy' female vocals on it.
Here's a clip of the original from amazon.com (windows media player needed).

Where do the Chems use Temptation?
I remember reading an interview where Tom says that tune should never be touched - the original ie.
And yes.. the song fuckin rules.
good memory Jack.
I was just reading a random interview and came across what you were refering to.
"Who have you had to turn down for remixes?
Rowlands: We got asked to remix "Temptation" by New Order and we said no. That's too good as it is -- it doesn't need us."

Really a good interview. Alot better than most of the tosh interviews I've read in the past.
