I don't know how many of you guys use soulseek but on most of the forums I go to there's normally a thread with a list of everyone's soulseek names.
I don't think there's one of these threads already, point me in it's direction if there is.
Mine is "syrup sponge" (case sensitive)

The Mongoose of Death Escribi:
Yeah I use it mainly to download live sets and rarities, oh, and to check out stuff I haven't heard before.
Yeah there nothing wrong with downloading live sets and dj sets you can't buy. If you download someones album however thats a bit off. Regardless stealing music has been going for ages, much before bit torrent and file shareing. People have just got more high tech instead of recording songs off the radio.

I don't use these types of music share programs... althoughonce upon a time I did hop on the Napster bandwagon to download songs here and there. I'd think of a song or hear about a song then nick it off Napster, I'm not on the moral high ground here. But when that died, it wasn't like I was crushed. Now when I think of the odd song here and there I'll buy it off itunes. 99 cents a song isn't asking a lot, it's not like you're sacrificing your whole pay check. For full albums - the ones that actually have more than 2 or 3 good songs on it, I will gladly pay for them. I will gladly pay to support artists I enjoy.
Trading music has always been a thorn in the sides of many people. Back then the sale of blank cassettes had the music industry up in arms. Back then we'd trade mix tapes or tapes of albums with friends at school. It's just alot easier to do nowadays and a lot more widespread which leaves the trading aspect wide open for abuse.
