after seeing a lot of videos from some chemical dj sets on youtube i must say, that the chems create their dj gigs like their livesets: they often (always?) use the same tracks in the same order...hmm.

of course, their dj sets are massive as well, and don't get me wrong: but did the chems not enjoy the freedom of mixing cd's or lp's together?!?!

for example: they did digitalism's jupiter room, justice beats with the vocals of staring at the sun in all their sets. the same for the trackline they used during the BGWIO set (don't know the tracks anymore); no need every time,...

..so do the chems enjoy doing livesets even more with some kind of a consistent tracklist?!?

Yup. Most of the chems dj sets I have here have a very similar structure. That's what annoyed me too a little back in the days (In Glint, Anti-Nazi). But it's not much relevant to me anymore because I know, the chems are not Djs on a regular base any longer as they (probably) were in the Manchester days. You know, they drop tunes they like and (just guessing) don't scanning the whole scene for the hippest tracks as you have to do if you're a weekend DJ. Know what I mean? If they were, I'd raise my claims.

But what really matters to me is the fact that their sets are always varied. These days Djs often play the same genre all night long without any real climax or nuances. Not the brothers. They know the coolness of adding more life to the set by hitting some synthie noises (or at least some mpc buttons) and how to make build-ups . That's what I miss nowadays in many dj-sets.

But i know where you comming from.

P.S.: If you're looking for real different chems dj sets listen to Confront your Demons, Chemicals Essential Mix or the DJ Set Xpress. Love them.

okok...from this point of view it's comprehensible. like the variation of sounds/genres in their sets too.

but for me, i love that kind of freedom, mixing tracks together. when i'm mixing in an angry mood, the mixtape's getting darker for example.

anyway, my point is, that the chems for me are a "liveband" and this fact mirrors in their dj sets.

btw: i don't have the chemical essential mix or Xpress - - - -> link pleeze!!!
