Usually when anyone is nice to you (as in, showing a romantic interest) of course they are wanting something more. I think sexual attraction is important, it's a biological imperative that cannot be ignored. We're animals, and although we have the capacity to reason and have self control we're still driven by these animal instincts. Being attracted to certain body types or personalities just falls in line with this - some like the shy guys, others like the smooth type, nice girls like bad boys, vice versa - it all gets very convoluted.
When stash and I met (we were quite young anyway) I'd been without a boyfriend for months. Not that I couldn't get a date, but it was to protect myself since the boyfriend I had before him burned me pretty hard. And for some reason, even though I never had a physical or personality preference, I was pretty stuck up and picky. Never really had positive role models growing up when it came to love, except for my mom's parents who I wasn't real close to until later on, and as years went on my brother and his wife. The only thing I have to say about the months leading up to when I met my husband is - what a friggen waste of time, why wasn't I out enjoying my life! I just don't think love works the same way twice - kind of like, your heart can break differently each time. But one thing is certain and it's that you don't find love, it finds you if you just let it. And the day you realize it's love, it hits you like a ton of bricks like nothing else. It's beautiful and complex, runs hot and cold, from solid to fragile - it goes from one extreme to the other. Yet it's the most simple and pure expression there is. It's really cool if you think about it... I think it's healthy to just go for it and take a chance (but proceed with caution), wipe the slate clean and open up because just about everyone's got something to give. You never know. You may find yourself 12 years later typing stupid shit about love on a band's official messageboard, like me. :P

Simple fact is you've got to have at least two of the following to be successful: 1) Good looks, 2) Money, 3) Drugs, 4) A Steady Job, 5) Vehicle.
If you've got two, you're probably in. Three it's a lock.
