Klaxons are working on new material. Nothing special except you're a fan. BUT i read some rumors that they are working for the new record together with James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) and our beloved Brothers.

Yeah Ed said something about that during an interview!
Actually, Tom has been working on this new album but Ed has not.

Otherwise, I don't know what's next. Tom's doing some work with the Klaxons. We did some music with the Olympics. But this film probably means we'll have to do a long tour!

Ed said that for the next MGMT album!
Where was this? I remember hearing the (false) rumors about their involvement with MGMT back in 2010 - a few people speculated that the first grainy clip of Another World was new material with them. Did they decide it was a good idea and start something?

Props to the Chemical 'Brotherhood' on Facebook for posting this article. Tom's a busy boy in between albums.

I saw Klaxons live yesterday afternoon at the Hard Rock calling fest. They did a 45 minute set. Perhaps unsuprisingly the crowd went nuts for the songs from the first album (and one from the second) rather than the new stuff. I wouldn't disagree with the overall crowd reaction. I like to think I'm good at sorting the wheat from the chaff when I hear songs for the first time live.
There was one new song yesterday with a house influenced piano riff that definitely grabbed me: Invisible Forces. The rest of the newer stuff was ok but didn't sound like it was going to challenge the first album for supremacy. They really need to release Invisible Forces as the first single from the album otherwise I fear they will have another flop album on their hands, even if Tom was involved in production. Still, it was nice to see them again.

^Yep we had that one on the "New Klaxons Track?" thread on 21st Feb.
But while we're here, I'm reminded of the little live review I did above, last summer.
Obviously the Tom/Chemical/Erol production can't be judged from a live gig, but I would suggest that anyone expecting great new songs from the forthcoming album may be a little disappointed. Just thought I'd mention it.
