I was just talking with the rep for Warner/Reprise and we were both lamenting the fact that the new Matrix soundtracks are bscially hard rock with a few electronic elements squeezed in. Thats the direction they're going in because they can afford to have new tracks by the biggest names in nu-metal. So, I don't think so. Aphex Twin would not sell anywhere near as many copies of the soundtrack as POD and company will.

I also heard from someone that the new Matrix movie soundtrack was made by Aphex Twin and Fatboy slim, but this could be for another and only a rumor. Does someone know for sure?

The Matrix score was made by Don Davis and Juno Reactor.

The Matrix - Original Motion Picture Score, Music Composed by Don Davis.

No Juno Reactor involved. Is there a score for Matrix Reloaded? actually, CD2 can be considered as Score.

We were talking about the new Matrix movie (see Thor's post) - CD 2 is done by Don Davis and Juno Reactor...

And it is unmixed, unlike the album version.

It is? I thought it still has the bit where it fades out of Serial Thrilla. (On another note) Session on Reloaded ST is not unmixed and thats piss annoying when it cuts off and theres a hiccup.

Or, at least, very nice fade in. I am not sure if this is the real intro bit.

Ok then... at least they put some effort in mixing the fade in to make it sound good. Not like the Wip3out soundtrack that has "Under the Influence" on it without clear intro or outro.

My favourites:

1. Studio K (let forever be b-side)

2. It doesn't matter

3. Under the influence

4. Private psychedelic reel

5. Three little birdie downbeats (extended version)
